  • We become 'part of the team' from the moment we start working with any client, and it's exactly the same when we start working with any supplier, they're just one of the gang - sharing our objectives, working towards the same goal, true collaboration. We know what we're doing when it comes to events, but we pride ourselves on surrounding ourselves with experts in their own field. We're doing a series of interviews with the people we work with to make the events we deliver come to life. We're doing this to inspire others, give recognition to our wider team, and offer some guidance for what we have found to be life saving moments in our journey of event production! For over eight years Thomas Jackson and TyneSight Photographic have been capturing the essence of BeaconHouse Events. The unique approach they take to event photography captures those amazingly spontaneous moments that make each event special. It's been a while, and after eight years of successfully honing our way of working, we thought it was a about time we got the essence of how it all works down on paper. Stressing the importance of a good relationship between event photographer with event planner and...the lighting! If you've been struggling to capture the essence of your event with photos that tell the true story of your event and leave a lasting impression, read on... https://lnkd.in/d57XuCwC

  • Did you know 33 million Brits receive unwanted Christmas presents each year and 1 in 10 of those end up in landfill? We think that sucks. So, this year, we will be donating on behalf of each of our clients to The People's Kitchen and matching that donation to make the gift of giving go that little bit further. The charity do amazing work, and if you're a North East based business, individual or just want to recognise the work they're doing we urge you to consider supporting their "Feed a Friend for a Fiver" campaign to provide a three course Christmas Dinner for a homeless or vulnerable person. They provide somewhere warm to come to on Christmas day, to get showered, have a cuppa and eat a proper Christmas dinner with other people so they are not alone. https://lnkd.in/eJvw6nJ2

  • With the season of giving upon us, the question is, 'what are you giving, and who cares?' Some of us ( ✋🏻 guilty) make Christmas lists because the thought of returning all those mis-sized jumpers is enough to turn anyone into Scrooge, that, or you're just one of those people that fall into the 'hard to buy for' category and no gift list in the world has suggestions that help. We accept this, yet at events, we still assume that a branded highlighter is what every delegates wants, scrap that...NEEDS. We don't accept that! Your event giveaways are more than just freebies; they’re powerful branding tools. By carefully selecting items that align with your brand values and resonate with your audience, you can create a lasting impression. Thoughtful giveaways reflect your commitment to quality, sustainability, and social responsibility, enhancing your brand and reputation. Choosing gifts that align with your audience’s interests and values fosters stronger relationships. Additionally, promoting sustainable and ethical products encourages positive changes to mindsets. Tailor your choices to your audience’s preferences and needs, opt for eco-friendly materials and production processes, choose items that will be used and appreciated. By making conscious choices, you can turn your event giveaways into a powerful marketing tool that leaves a positive impact. We've got some tips on how to put the theory into practice... https://lnkd.in/dCtTwwvh

  • Planning your Christmas Do? Well don't let us stop you... Keep going, and in fact don't stop with the Christmas Do. Did you know that events are a proven means of boosting team morale, fostering collaboration, and driving business success? By investing in opportunities for your team to build 'out of the day job' relationships and by recognising achievements, you will create a positive and engaged culture, improve retention, and receive a little more meaningful team feedback than a 7.8/10 on the annual 360o feedback survey. Let us help you think outside of the box this year and plan something more memorable and more impactful for your team, because - they're worth it. https://lnkd.in/eRahihTB #engagement #productivity #culture #retention #events #teambuilding #workplace

  • We believe 'empowered teams' is more than just a buzz word, we practice it, we work on it and we do our best to help other teams achieve it in the events we deliver. Constantly working on our wider knowledge of the subject to stay top of our game, we attended the Entrepreneurs' Forum workshop 'Elevated Leadership, Empowered Teams' led by industry expert David Stimson, founding director of Bennu Consulting and Child and Adult Therapy Solutions (CATS). We all know that high-performing teams are essential. Effective leadership now focuses on empowering individuals and fostering an environment where creativity and innovation thrive, unlocking talent and driving exceptional results. One of the key takeaways from the day was the importance of self-awareness and emotional intelligence in effective leadership. By understanding our own strengths and weaknesses, we can better connect with our team members and create a supportive and empowering environment. Another valuable insight was the power of constructive challenge. By fostering a culture of open and honest communication, we can drive innovation and continuous improvement. We'll be working on the application of these theories on our scoping for team engagement events in 2025, but help an event manager out - what would motivate you to be top of your 'empowerment' game? What event experience would help you feel most engaged with your business? #leadership #teambuilding #personaldevelopment #workplaceculture #empowerment #innovation

  • Senior Event Manager Sophie Kate Flanagan takes the time to reflect on the power of giving back in our most recent edition of 'out of the office' with the team. Settle in with the blog and read more on Sophie's volunteer work with The Children's Foundation and Groundwork North East & Cumbria, experiences she found incredibly rewarding and reinforced her and the wider team commitment to making a positive impact on our community. She also talks about the importance of balancing the stress of working in the events industry with some FRESH water therapy and finding that key balance. Sophie talks around continuing her charitable work in the coming year, including volunteering at The Children's Foundation Christmas wrapping event this December and supporting initiatives that promote literacy and education among young people. https://lnkd.in/eKPfD-Nt #community #charity #volunteering #ESG #sustainability #teamwork #givingback #BeaconHouseEvents

  • Today and tomorrow we'll be full indulging our appetites for a more sustainable world of events at Event Sustainability Live in London. As passionate advocates and thought leaders for the subject, we'll spend the next two days extending our network and learnings, connecting with industry leaders and sharing our experiences. If you're here, pop along to hear Director Sarah Thackray speaking on 'Who’s leading the way to sustainable events? Buyers vs. Suppliers' on the isla stage at 12.05 tomorrow. Or let us know your thoughts on who should be leading the charge! Everyone’s talking about sustainable events, but who’s really driving the change - and who should be? Should buyers take the reins? Or is it up to the suppliers, who bring these ideas to life, to push for greener, more innovative solutions? #EventSustainabilityLive #SustainableEvents #ESG #GreenEvents #EventProfs

  • Are award ceremonies still relevant? Awards season is here, and it's more than just a chance to dress up. Celebrating success boosts morale, fosters a culture of healthy competition, and creates shared memories. It’s a strategic part of our culture, marketing, and staffing plans. We believe in the power of impactful award ceremonies. Recognising achievements and celebrating success inspires excellence and energises teams. It’s also a great way to showcase your work, vision, and values to a wider audience. If you've been dwelling on putting together a list of award categories that recognises the success of your team and need the nudge to tell you it's a good idea...consider yourself nudged! https://lnkd.in/epScAwex
