✈️ Flying Fact Friday! Did you know that jet engines are some of the most complex machines in the world? A typical jet engine contains 25,000 to 45,000 individual parts, with around 2,000 unique components and each is identified by its own part number! These engines are built in modular sections, making maintenance and repairs more efficient. Each module houses critical assemblies, such as the fan, compressor, combustor, turbine, and exhaust system, all working together to generate the immense power needed for flight. Take the GE CF6-80C2 engine used on the Boeing 747, which consists of over 40,000 parts! Many of these are tiny yet essential components, installed in multiple quantities to ensure reliability at cruising speeds of over 900 km/h (560 mph).
