Well, what a great two weeks it’s been! I’m over the moon to have been awarded a distinction in my MSc Spatial Planning Degree Apprenticeship from The Bartlett, UCL's Faculty of the Built Environment, and I’m particularly proud of the fact I was awarded a distinction for my dissertation which focused on exploring the challenges and solutions surrounding the accessibility of public on-street electric vehicle charge points. Last Thursday I attended The EVIEs Awards and was a finalist for the 'EV Under 30 Star' Award and last night I attended the Transport + Energy Awards and received a highly commended shout out for the 'Rising Star' Award! 🌟
My next step now is to focus on completing my APC!
Firstly, I would like to give my family and friends my deepest thanks for their unwavering support and motivation over the last two years, allowing me to discuss my world of town planning with them and for always being there.
I am also extremely grateful to my company Believ for giving me the fantastic opportunity to study my MSc Spatial Planning Degree Apprenticeship at UCL. I have thoroughly enjoyed it, thank you. Particularly, a special thanks to Gail Rowe and Charlie Allen for their continued guidance, expertise and encouragement throughout my degree and the East London LEVI (Local Electric Vehicle Infrastructure) pilot.
I would also like to express my appreciation and give a big thanks to my personal tutor, Peter McLennan and my dissertation supervisor, Jonas De Vos for their time, invaluable insights and enthusiasm over the course of my degree and dissertation. I would also like to thank Nick Tyler CBE FREng, Ann Frye and Jean Hewitt for their time, allowing me to discuss my dissertation with them, listen to their thoughts and for sharing their accessibility expertise with me.
Finally, I extend my thanks to the local authorities I have worked with as part of the East London LEVI Pilot, give my wholehearted thanks to everyone that kindly let me interview them and also a big thank you to those that were involved in the workshop. Without you all my dissertation would not be possible, and your personal experiences, feedback and ideas are all part of the wider solution in raising awareness and improving the accessibility of public EV charging infrastructure so that no one is left behind.
