📈The ScaleUp Institute are on a mission to make the UK the best place to not only start but to grow and scale a business. Here are some highlights from their latest annual report: • Scaleups contribution is equivalent to 55% of the SMEs total output, despite making up just 0.6% of the UK business population • Berkshire is one of the highest scale up density areas • The landscape for growth capital is rapidly evolving and many vital steps are being taken but challenges remain • The regional economy is critically important and there are some good building blocks in place • Scaleups remain hungry for peer engagement with 4 in 10 responding to the 2024 scaleup survey seeking this type of support. ACTIVATE LEARNING LAUNCHES THEIR ONLINE SUSTAINABILITY PROGRAMMES. Our CEO Alison Webster was delighted to speak at Activate Learning's launch of their new Sustainability Skills Bootcamps on 14 November at The Roseate Hotel, Reading.  "Whilst Berkshire is currently the second most productive economy in the UK, after London, we must retain this competitive advantage and continue to improve productivity and grow our economy. But it is important that in doing so we must support good growth - growth that is inclusive but also sustainable, being mindful of the needs of the planet and our local people. I was particularly struck by the reference to companies achieving the triple bottom line of success which is good for people, planet, profit and the need to make sure that all three are addressed." - Alison Webster, CEO, Berkshire LEP.
