It’s always very rewarding to see projects come to life during the construction process and Braybrooke Brewery has certainly been a fantastic one to be involved in from start to completion. Our team worked with the brewery owner to create a new extension and taproom with Sophie Miller producing the building regulation drawings and overseeing the project management from technical design to on-site construction, Tim Hayter assisting with the specification, Dylan Purewal working on the drainage strategy and Dan Hawkes managing the development. CAPITAL GRANTS UPDATE Demand for stand-alone capital grants has been exceptionally high: applications from May to November this year were worth 42% more than all applications received last financial year; the RPA are forecast to spend 49% more on capital grants this year than was paid out in 2023/24 and 125% more than in 2022/23. Therefore, to ensure the funding can be prioritised to help build a sustainable farming sector, it has been announced that grants will be simplified and rationalised as follows: - The main part of the Capital Grant offer will remain closed until early 2025. - Existing applications are for now on hold, and applicants will be contacted in early 2025 with next steps. - Payments under existing agreements will continue as usual following the current process. - The Woodland Tree Health grant, Capital Grant Plans and Management Plans, the Protection and Infrastructure Grants and the Higher Tier Capital Grants remain open. We are delighted to have been awarded full planning consent for two holiday cabins in the setting of the Ironbridge Gorge UNESCO World Heritage Site. Nicknamed 'The Treehouses', these cabins will be constructed of sustainably sourced timber and raised up on stilts overlooking a gorge, creating the illusion that they are floating among the trees. Not a bad place for a morning cup of coffee!
