Residents in Redcar have received additional support thanks to a collection drive organised by Beyond Housing and our partners. Over the course of a month, food and essential items were gathered and donated to Footprints in the Community, a foodbank that serves local families and individuals. Footprints in the Community provides food parcels and social activities aimed at reducing isolation and supporting vulnerable people in Redcar. The collection drive was sparked by an initial donation from Beyond Housing’s contractor Novus Property Solutions and was further bolstered by contributions from partners, including 0800 Repair, @FandIGroup, and Love2shop, which provided a gift card to purchase additional items. Rachael Crooks, Community Partnership & Engagement Manager at Beyond Housing, said: “This collection drive has shown how teamwork can make a real difference. We’re very thankful to our contractors and colleagues for their efforts in supporting these vital local charities.” The donations have now been distributed to Footprints in the Community, helping local residents access vital supplies during the winter months. Scarborough Foodbanks Receive Boost From Collection Drive   Beyond Housing colleagues have supported foodbanks in Scarborough through a month-long collection drive to gather essential supplies to assist local residents, with donations going to Westway Open Arms and the Gallows Close Centre. Westway Open Arms is a Christian social action centre that helps individuals and families with food, clothing, and other necessities. The Gallows Close Centre serves as a community hub, providing services and support for residents of the Northstead and Barrowcliff estates. Stephanie Lake, Community Partnership & Engagement Manager, said: “This initiative, which began as a small act of kindness, has happily grown into a substantial collection of items that will bring some Christmas cheer to some local residents facing food insecurity and isolation.” The donations have now been delivered to Westway Open Arms and the Gallows Close Centre to ensure that local residents have access to much-needed supplies this winter. A big thank you to 0800 Repair for their amazing gifts for our local foodbank, run by Footprints in the Community in Redcar. The foodbanks have been really short on stock recently, so we’re sure the donation will be much appreciated in giving people a merrier Christmas. Colleagues across Beyond Housing have also been donating to collections for Redcar and Scarborough foodbanks throughout December, which we look forward to delivering this week 🛒🎄
