Under the Treason Act 1351, aiding enemies of the Crown during wartime—whether through combat or other forms of support—constitutes treason, one of the gravest offenses in British law. Following the 9/11 attacks, the Taliban was officially designated as an enemy of the UK, and any collaboration with the group was deemed an act of betrayal.
