The new office for the Department of Work and Pensions is almost complete in Blackpool town centre. It’s the largest commercial build in the town since the Blackpool Tower, and it will bring more than 3,000 workers to the town centre when it opens in 2025. It is part of phase three of the £350million Talbot Gateway regeneration project around Blackpool North Train Station, bringing 8,000 professional workers into the area. The construction of the building has created 223 jobs, with one-third of those hired locally, from mechanical supervisors to security, labouring, and cleaning.
