New drone footage from RHS Garden Wisley. Working closely with the client team, we are ensuring technical standards and design requirements are met for the Fruit Garden at RHS Garden Wisley. Our work includes site levelling, path construction, edging, and irrigation installation — all contributing to a functional, sustainable landscape. Also visible, on the far side of the Viewing Mount, is The Oudolf Landscape, a collaborative project completed earlier this year that earned a national BALI Award. Collaboration and quality is at the heart of these projects, and we are proud to be part of this ongoing journey. Take a look at the latest drone footage from Itchen Valley Country Park, now nearing completion. With the trees shedding their summer foliage, the extensive improvements are on full display, including the upgraded network of walking and cycling trails. The £3.3 million project has seen enhancements to the park focused on accessibility, sustainability, and creating inviting spaces for all visitors. These works feature a covered outdoor seating area, a welcoming events and market space at Highwood Barn, and refurbishments to both Highwood Barn and Kingfisher Barn to enrich the visitor experience. We’ve also completed soft landscaping works, introducing native trees and planting to support the park’s ecological value and installed sustainable car parking. Today we are celebrating World Soil Day. At Blakedown Landscapes, we specialise in soil handling and reuse, turning complex challenges into sustainable solutions. Our innovative approach to soil management ensures that even the most challenging projects contribute to a greener, more sustainable future. At Greenwich Park Revealed, we managed thousands of cubic metres of soil in a regrading and cut-and-fill operation. Working alongside soil specialists and archaeologists, we preserved the park’s historical integrity while ensuring optimal soil conditions. By carefully separating and reusing topsoil, we avoided external imports and ensured optimal conditions for the landscape. On the Parterre banks, we rotovated the seedbed into the topsoil layer, setting it aside for re-spreading after leveling. The soil consultant approved this method for minimising compaction and preserving soil health. Meanwhile, at Victoria Park, we carried out a 10,000m³ cut-and-fill strategy to reuse topsoils. These were expertly ameliorated for applications like rain gardens, planting-intensive spaces, and tree-planting areas. Our skilled operatives worked closely with clients, consultants, and suppliers to achieve sustainable and precise results. This World Soil Day, we’re proud to showcase how innovative soil management not only transforms landscapes but also supports biodiversity and sustainability. #WorldSoilDay2024 #WorldSoilDay #SoilConservation #HealthySoils #ClimateAction #sustainablesolutions #sustainability #soilmanagement #biodiversity
