The garden of one of our children’s care homes has been given an extensive makeover by three of the companies we've contracted to build our new council homes: Elkins Construction, Durkan and Blakeney Leigh Limited. Improvements include raised beds for plants, herbs and fruit trees, a covered seating area, trampoline, boxing bag and a large shed for storage, so that care home workers can save money by buying in bulk. We require all contractors working on our 1,750 new council homes to provide social value in the form of projects like this one, or apprenticeships, jobs and training for local people. #greenwich #carehome #childrenincareuk #childrenincare #london #councilhomes #gardenmakeover

We were recently asked by Alexander James Contracts Limited to join their networking and careers fair within Royal Borough of Greenwich Centre. With the new school year starting this month, @Construction Management Magazine explains the lack of upcoming workforce in our industry:  https://lnkd.in/ezX7qsM3   The construction industry has always been persistent, with strong growth and generally a secure future. The government’s response during COVID would be a testament towards this, as the construction workforce were asked to continue during this period, whilst majority of the country’s workforce were suspended or requested to work from home.   Construction has a vast and wide number of roles suitable, which we urge everyone to consider. As Phase 1 of Kidbrooke Park Road is now close to completion, here’s an update of the new 122 Royal Borough of Greenwich council homes. The former Thomas Tallis secondary school site, now holds a total of 4 buildings, from 1 to 3 bedrooms and 12 wheelchair accessible apartments, all to net carbon zero standards.   Further updates to follow once reached full completion, with KPR Phase 2 set to commence soon. As part of Blakeney Leigh’s ongoing social valuing, Rockliffe Manor Primary School were invited for one final visit to our Royal Borough of Greenwich Greenwich Builds site, Gilbourne Road. Now this site has reached full completion, all children from Reception to Year 6 explored one of the dwellings, with worksheets in relation to energy efficiency provided.
