It’ll be all right on the night… We’re incredibly proud of the Blick Rothenberg team. Sometimes, that involves stepping into the spotlight. Whether in front of a camera or behind a microphone helping our Marketing team capture the perfect piece-to-camera or soundbite. This year, more colleagues than ever from across the firm have embraced these opportunities, sharing their expertise and experience. From Insight pieces to data analysis, budget predictions and reviews, commentaries, newsletters, webinars, podcasts, and videos, your contributions have been invaluable. A special thank you to Jeff and his technical team for ensuring we all shine on screen. Working with each and every one of you has been a pleasure. Of course, it’s not always flawless on the first take, but that’s part of the fun. As is now tradition, between Christmas and New Year we’ll be sharing some “behind-the-scenes” moments to celebrate the work that goes into making our people and content shine. Here’s how we do it…

This Christmas please support The Connection Since January 2024, Blick Rothenberg has partnered with The Connection at St Martin-in-the-Fields, a local London charity working with people who are rough sleeping to move away from, and stay off, the streets. In this film for World Homeless Day Seb talks about what life is like for people rough sleeping, and shares what he wants everyone to know about how they can help... Yesterday Melissa Thomas and Evelina Panchal visited with a donation of much needed toiletries, personal care products and warm clothing. After delivering the boxes they helped the team sort through other donations. Through the generosity of our colleagues and many other supporters, the clients of The Connection at St Martin-in-the-Fields will receive care packages with toiletries, warm accessories and clothing this Christmas. This Christmas please consider making a donation and help make London a City where no one has to sleep rough: https://hubs.la/Q030zqrn0 Find out more about our work with The Connection: https://hubs.la/Q030zqyH0 #BlickRothenberg | #London | #Homeless | #Charity | #Community

It’s a bumper Christmas for HMRC HMRC and the Treasury can toast the New Year thanks to record tax takings. The total tax receipts for the 12 months ending in November 2024 were up by £25 bn compared to the same period to November 2023. While Labour’s October budget presented a rhetoric of avoiding increasing tax on the general public, HMRC’s statistics show this is not being reflected in a monetary sense. The concept of fiscal drag, whereby individuals are brought into higher rate tax bands due to frozen tax thresholds and increasing salaries, remains the shadowy ace up the governments sleeve for increasing tax revenues: https://hubs.la/Q030v6Zk0 #BlickRothenberg | #HMRC | #TaxTake | #FiscalDrag

Father Christmas Faces Sleigh Tax Bill Children eagerly await Santa’s arrival, but Father Christmas likely faces significant tax charges on his sleigh despite his honourable intentions. Partner Matthew Crawford says: “Unlike HGVs, Santa’s sleigh is considered a car for BIK tax purposes, leading to a hefty tax bill based on CO2 emissions from the reindeer. He also faces a significant Class 1A National Insurance bill:” https://hubs.la/Q030bz3H0 #BlickRothenberg | #Tax | #FatherChristmas | #HMRC #| #BIK | #SleighTax
