We ❤️ women supporting women. We're supportive, not salesy. Collaborative, not competitive. A network, not networking.

About us

Bloom Scotland is a network of women in comms and marketing that support each other. We're a network that helps each other to reach their potential, whatever that means to them. We champion, challenge and cheer for each other. And we do all this whilst putting Scotland on the map as a place where game-changing marketing is happening, right now.

Lovely words from our outgoing Bloom Scotland President, Sallie Bale:

Marketing Strategist & Consultant || Scottish Museums Federation || Founder Bloom Scotland

This is me, in May 2019, introducing Bloom Scotland to the world. Today, I proudly hand over this community of over 1,000 incredible women over to our new President, Claire Mathieson 👏👏 I could write a full on book on what I have learnt and gained, and how I've changed on this journey. And so many people I want to thank for their support. But, luckily for you, LinkedIn has a character limit. So, the lesson I wish to remember, and to share with you, is this: ✨ You have the tools, the knowledge, the resources, the strength to give yourself what you need. ✨ I felt alone, so I built a community. I felt powerless, so I created an space where my voice was heard, and others can feel seen and heard too. I felt behind in life. In fact, to be honest with you, I felt like a failure. I had a failed business, a failed marriage, a failed career behind me. So I healed myself by sharing my failures with a room full 30 incredible women. Bloom Scotland allowed me to become the person I am today. It is the tribe I didn't know I needed. My platform to care for my community, and leave this world just a little better than I found it. So my message to you today, on my last day as President? Give yourself what you need. Ask others for what you cannot give yourself. We are all standing beside you, willing you to succeed. You are more powerful than you realise. You are magic. You've got this 🫶🏻

Before everyone disappears for the summer break, I have an announcement about Making Work Work. We have a limited number of places on Making Work Work - for Edinburgh Women, starting in mid-August. The programme may be for you if: ▶ are a woman in Edinburgh ▶ you have had a career break of 6+ months ▶ you feel your career break is impeding your transition into meaningful work Your career break can be for any reason. Typically, women we have helped took career breaks for childcare, elderly care, maternity, relocation, recovery from illness, mental health issues or redundancy. We have supported 250 women on Making Work Work and spin-off programmes. Women report greater confidence in themselves and their ability to find or negotiate work that works for them, plus an increase in their professional knowledge and skills. We have excellent results and perhaps you, or a woman in your life, could be next! More information and a replay of our information session are available on our website. Link in comments. Some great insights from the Advertising Trends Festival from one of our Board Members, Kelly Ling:

⚡️Business and Marketing Strategist | Empowering women founders to become laser focused on the priorities that move their business forward. 🚀

Absolutely thrilled to have attended the Advertising Trends Festival today with team egg, organised by the brilliant minds at Bonded Agency 💡. The event featured a dynamic panel of speakers (Marija Cepulyte, Rob Smallwood, Naomi Chapman, Zoe Harkness and christopher treacy) from leading platforms such as Pinterest, Spotify, Meta, X and marketing body for commercial TV, Thinkbox. Sharing a few insights: ➡ Video is huge and growing across all platforms, including Spotify and X. ➡ 4 in 5 sessions include video on X. In response, a new video tab is set to be introduced and will enhance user experience by streamlining access to video content. ➡ Meta: Video remains a colossal force, with advanced technology ensuring the right content reaches the right person. Reels, in particular, are thriving and the sharing of Reels within WhatsApp is growing, blending social with messaging. ➡ Pinterest: The last two quarters have witnessed a significant growth of Gen Z. Their attention span is driving a change in content formats, demanding more engaging and bite-sized content. ⚡ Bonus insight: pinners scroll 3x slower! Inspiring content on Pinterest helps protect mental health. 10mins of active engagement with Pinterest a day aids against rising burnout, stress and social disconnect. ➡ Meta creative - AI achieving average 4.32% ROI. Look out for Meta Search Lift - intersection between search x social - help to understand what's driving your search traffic. Meta highlights the importance of testing - experiment at least 15 times a year to achieve 20% growth Finally, my favourite part: ❤️ Introduce movement breaks to your day. Led by Hannah Beecham MBE, demonstrated how small movement breaks across our day can reenergise and help us all feel better. Thank you Steven Underwood and Nikki Alcorn and rest of Bonded team.
