Transforming commercial services together through proven processes delivering tangible value, savings and innovation
About us
Commercial expertise is a critical element within emergency services as third party suppliers play an increasingly important role in supporting front-line services. BlueLight Commercial is designed to support delivery of the Policing Vision 2025, encourage transformation of policing and engender cultural change. It will raise the commercial capability within blue light services whilst building capacity and credibility of the commercial profession. It focuses on maximising benefits to front line operational performance. BlueLight Commercial will be responsible for the interface with other external bodies including the Home Office, the Government Commercial Organisation (GCO) and Crown Commercial Services (CCS), as well as other policing organisations. It will provide support, guidance and recommended approaches across key commercial areas in order to support local commercial teams. Local commercial teams will be able to use BlueLight Commercial outputs and support to help meet the needs of their force. Suppliers will usually be managed locally and forces will be supported to deal effectively with strategic suppliers in order to help tackle problems and drive improvement.

Yesterday, a major public sector reform milestone was reached as the Procurement Act 2023 came into force. The new regime applies to all public sector organisations and will speed up and simplify procurement processes, making it easier for suppliers to bid for contracts and make buying decisions more transparent for the public. The new Act gives a range of benefits to both the public sector and suppliers, helping drive innovation, deliver better outcomes and embed transparency right through the commercial lifecycle, so everyone can access procurement data and see how public money is spent. It also includes a new Central Digital Platform for all contracting authorities and suppliers. BlueLight Commercial is the Single Point of Contact for Policing and Fire, and on our website, suppliers and blue light organisations, can find more information about the Act, previous webinar recordings and signposting to useful Government resources such as a Suppliers Guide, Knowledge Drop Videos and more. #cabinet office #public sector procurement https://lnkd.in/eiX6ETjP
