We are delighted to announce that Craig Austen-White will be the new Headteacher at Skippers Hill Manor Preparatory School from April 2025. Craig has 14 years experience in a variety of senior teams in both the state and independent sectors, most recently serving as Head of Prep at Battle Abbey School. Prior to this, Craig was the Deputy Head Academic at the Senior School. This has given Craig a full understanding of children’s education from 3-18. 👏 Congratulations to Craig on his appointment. We are delighted to announce the appointment of Jonathan Coke as Head of Gateway School from Easter 2025. Jonathan is currently Head of St. Christopher’s Prep School In North-West London having worked in Senior Leadership roles for the last eleven years. Prior to this, Jonathan was Deputy Head at Beechwood Park School in Hertfordshire and also Director of Marketing and communications for a Prep School in West London. Before moving into teaching, Jonathan had a successful career in Sports Journalism and semi professional football. 👏 Congratulations to Jonathan on his appointment. We are pleased to welcome Mrs. Kate Walker as the new Head of Bruern Abbey Senior School from August 2024. Kate joins Bruern Abbey from Repton School, where she has worked since 2015 as Head of English and a boarding Housemistress. She has an MA in English and Philosophy from St Andrews University and completed the Graduate Teacher Programme in Suffolk whilst working in a range of maintained schools. Her independent sector career began at Oakham, where she held various academic positions, as well as being a resident tutor, coaching riding, and leading trips to Kenya and Uganda. Happy Musical Monday! It’s always a joy to start the week with Parent Choir. They are making super progress with music by Tallis, Elgar (not the dog) and… The Beatles. However, this afternoon and evening belonged to the talented pupils from The Oratory Prep School and other Bellevue Education schools. Thank you to all those who performed, the amazing staff and to the travelling parents. It was a privilege to listen to such a wonderful showcase of passion and talent. #AI Focus Day, courtesy of Adam Atkinson . Great discussions, suggestions and genuinely #inspirational demonstrations of AI tools for #education. A really interesting talk from Leo Ryan also led to some controversial discussion. As a teacher, I’m looking at how AI can enhance my teaching and learning and, if possible, save me time. I honestly believe, if I can do it-anyone can! “Magic School”, suggested by Josh, looks like a really teacher friendly first step in. Chat GPT 4 comes highly recommended by Ian and Kate has made some suggestions which I can’t wait to try, including #Google Duet and Google #Screencast to replace Loom. I shared the limitations I had found using #gamma and demonstrated some of the benefits of #Videoleap.
