There are proven technologies from BOC that the steelmaking industry can use to reduce energy consumption and carbon emissions that are deployable now. To mitigate carbon compliance costs, the use of oxygen can be a low-risk strategy, and the recommended first step towards reducing carbon emissions. The use of oxygen in high-temperature manufacturing process increases fuel efficiency, which in turn reduces carbon emissions. While complying with environmental standards, the use of oxygen has numerous financial benefits as well – it reduces the amount of natural gas needed, lowers carbon emissions and the associated costs thereof, and positively affects furnace refractory life and furnace aging characteristics. This is because flameless oxyfuel firing reduces peak temperature hot spots, providing temperature uniformity, and thus reducing furnace maintenance. #oxyfuel #oxygen

🌟 SEO London Insight Day at BOC Thame 🌟    We were thrilled to host the first-ever SEO London Insight Day at our BOC Thame site! It was an incredible opportunity to welcome students and give them a closer look at the world of STEM and the gas industry. It was great to attend the ‘Investing in Green Hydrogen’ Conference joining industry leaders, innovators, and policymakers to discuss the future of green hydrogen and its pivotal role in achieving a sustainable energy landscape.
