About us

Bold Tendencies commissions visual art and architecture and produces an ambitious live events programme of music, dance and opera in its unique home in the rooftop spaces of the former Peckham Multi-Storey Car Park. Bold Tendencies has operated as a not-for-profit since it started in 2007, evolving as a successful summer programme and public space, developing new cultural projects and infrastructure, learning and audience services. Since 2007 Bold Tendencies has commissioned 105 new site-specific artworks and new architecture (Frank’s Cafe in 2009, the Straw Auditorium in 2010 and the Peckham Observatory in 2017) and produced an ambitious live events programme, including work with The Multi-Story Orchestra, Sharon Eyal and the L-E-V dance company, opera director Polly Graham’s Loud Crowd and with Es Devlin. Bold Tendencies is for everyone. The programme and the site are animated for schools, families, young people and the neighbourhood through standalone education and community initiatives that take culture and civic values seriously. Bold Tendencies has a wide and growing audience in Southwark, London, the UK and globally, welcoming more than 2 million people over 13 summer seasons so far. With spectacular views across London, Bold Tendencies celebrates the free enjoyment of public space in the city.
