  • Happy New Year from the Bolder team! We're starting 2025 with some new work to share. In December, as part of our ongoing creative collaborations with Ralph Lauren, we put the finishing touches on a stunning project for their Holiday 2024 campaign—wrapping up their iconic gifting style with a beautifully refined visual identity. We focused on creating an intricate and refined visual representation of their signature red ribbon and gift box. It was modelled and animated to evoke simplicity and tactile elegance, and these elements were then developed into a versatile toolkit, designed to ensure consistency across all Holiday 2024 campaign assets. You can see full case study in the link in the comments.

  • And that's a wrap on 2024! Thank you to all of our clients, partners, and collaborators for trusting us with transforming your ideas into reality. Most importantly, a huge thank you to the exceptional Bolder Creative team - it wouldn't be possible without you legends. We’ve welcomed new team members, mastered new tools, and refined what we do and the way we work. It’s been an extraordinary year—and we're gearing up for an even more exciting year ahead. See you in 2025 👋

Project Spotlight: 'Unnatural By Nature' for ASSOS of Switzerland GmbH - Mountain Bike Trail System. As part of our archive series, we’re revisiting 'Unnatural By Nature,' a standout project that illustrates our blend of hands-on creativity with digital tools and techniques. We’re excited to share a behind-the-scenes look at the process that brought this campaign to life, showcasing our integration of CGI and live action. This piece of work takes viewers on an immersive ride through the Surrey hills, featuring dynamic multi-camera cinematography alongside organic CGI. By combining detailed textural simulations with the raw energy of trail riding, we captured the essence of the technical apparel range. The production involved several days of on-location filming, followed by extensive R&D for 3D builds, precise edits, and sound design—ensuring every element came together seamlessly. • Wonderful write up by James Denman on our latest piece of work for Ralph Lauren. "Leveraging emerging technology and, in doing so, finding new creative ways to explore the brand". In the run up to Christmas, we are working with the team to develop a visual narrative that encapsulates the essence of the Ralph Lauren Polo Bear with charm and character - expanding on the already established style, with a convincing interaction and integration of CGI elements. More to come! #3D #motion #modelling #animation #C4D

Exec Brand Marketer for Fashion & Luxury | SVP Marketing & Brand Strategy

How do you make brand icons feel brand new again? This is a question that Ralph Lauren’s Polo Bear could well be pondering on his return home for the Holidays. Polo Bear is one of the brand's most distinctive and evergreen elements. While the pony and the dreamlike atmosphere of Americana the brand weaves are always present, Polo Bear never fails to charm uniquely. It's not quite 'Ralph,' but it utterly is Ralph Lauren. Its origin, as a bear wearing a fully tailored Ralph Lauren outfit, was initially produced in a limited run of 200 bears. Selling out in one weekend. It's become a recognized brand symbol since first appearing in apparel in 1991. As the brand’s portfolio has expanded, so have iterations of the Polo Bear. Preppy-coded, RRL adorned, or in Purple form, it’s a wonderfully versatile asset. And surprisingly, also a tool for experimentation. Which is exactly what the brand has been exploring, by introducing Polo Bear through CGI content. It’s no secret that brands within fashion and beauty have been playing with the CGI/AI form of creative content with decidedly mixed results. For every JACQUEMUS there are a dozen (inferior) copycats. But there is a through line of the ones that work. They take existing assets and actually give them a new life. This story over stunt is a great news brand with specific motifs. Which is precisely why Ralph Lauren’s experimentation with the Preppy Bear in CGI is so charming and effective The brand has experimented with the form for each of the brand’s tentpole moments this year. Polo Bear has been to Wimbledon, the Olympics, and the US Open. One look at the Holiday teaser starring Polo Bear demonstrates this potential. Not just the clothes rendered in detail, the little Ralph’s coffee cup, the NYC skyline, or the classic holiday gift box, but in the adventures of Polo Bear itself. The experimentation with technology and the fidelity of execution open doors to where Polo Bear could go as a fully fleshed-out character. A debonair, charming, and warm representation of the brand. Fleshed out with its own adventures and personality. Episodic content and commerciality go hand in hand. It demonstrates CGI’s potential when applied beyond short-term tactics - but long-term brand building. And it’s a superb example of what is meant by building brand universes. It’s not just content but taking assets and creating entertainment from them. Leveraging emerging technology and, in doing so, finding new creative ways to explore the brand while avoiding the ‘slop’ trap that’s more and more commonplace in this sub-genre of creativity. Paddington might have a new competitor on the block.

  • New work. Wave Rebellion Pro 3 Beta for Mizuno Corporation EMEA in collaboration with Motus Creative. A visually dazzling Op-Art inspired aerodynamic wind tunnel sees the Wave Rebellion Pro 3 Beta product sweeping with pacy movements, showcasing the structure and innovations of the unique trainer. 3D scans and textures captured the shoe in detail with the patterned environment and animation designed to enhance it’s movements, creating a flow of maximum velocity. Inspired by the pattern on the shoe, we are placed in a vortex of motion - a world of stark black and white geometrics that are disrupted by the shoes speed with shocks of acid green.

We're kicking off the week full of energy and fresh ideas after last week's We Are Playgrounds In Motion festival! ✨ The event was a refreshing reminder that, despite the growing focus on AI, there’s still immense value in starting projects with hands-on creativity. Digital tools are here to enhance - not replace - the authentic, human element of our work. Highlights included the loose and energetic previz edits of Megaforce's work, the beautiful, characterful diversity of Margherita Premuroso's illustrative animations, and the intricately crafted development and in-camera process of Optical Arts . It’s clear there’s already a shift in trends towards embracing craft and authenticity over purely AI-generated imagery, and festivals like this help drive that conversation. This experience also had us reflecting on our work at Bolder, where live-action shoots, macro photography, 3D scanning, sketching, and sculpting come together with digital tools. This blend of craft and technology has always been at the core of our approach, and we’re excited to use this inspiration to fuel a new series of content from our archives that showcases our creative journey.

  • A look behind the scenes at our development process for our recent partnership with 4creative and Butterkist. We modelled and crafted CGI popcorn, and designed and animated bespoke Channel 4 'cube' environments. Our team also dove into the dynamic world of motion capture, taking raw performance data to breathe life into the bespoke 3D characters we created in-house.

A sneak peek at our development work for an iconic, global crisps brand. The project required modelling and custom texturing of food assets, supporting particles and simulations - suspended in an infinite space, and manipulated to generate a dynamic world of taste and texture within simple graphic backdrops for clarity. The execution was designed to visually hit the viewer with explosions of flavour and ingredients from the product, presenting a tempting and realistic render of the crisps and the flavour notes themselves. Full case study in the comments.
