Bolton Hospice

Bolton Hospice

Non-profit Organizations

We provide free expert care and support for local people facing terminal and life-limiting illnesses and their families.

About us

We provide free care services to people in Bolton with life-limiting illnesses, it costs £400 every hour for us to do this, and as an independent charity we have to fundraise the first £300 every hour, every day of the year. The expert palliative care we provide addresses all patient needs, not just the physical such as the relief of pain and other symptoms, but also psychological and spiritual care. We aim to enhance the quality of life and also positively influence the course of illness. Our consultant led team of doctors, nurses and healthcare professionals are dedicated to providing patients, their families and carers with the support required to ease their burden and maintain their dignity as they face enormous personal challenges. We provide this care both at the hospice and also in the homes of patients who are in the final stages of life.

  • #GivingTuesday has had a makeover here at Bolton Hospice this year! We're asking you browse our Amazon Wishlist, and see what you can buy to help us keep caring from the heart 💜 Lots of wonderful individual supporters have already gifted us cushions, throws, and lots (and lots!) of gemstones for our Creative Therapy room, but we think there are some generous #Bolton businesses who would love to get involved too! Perhaps you'd like to buy us a vacuum cleaner to help us keep our shops spick & span, and best placed to raise vital funds, or tables for patients to use in our Wellbeing Hub conservatory? Or even a deep fat fryer so we can keep on serving delicious treats to our loyal customers in The Old Bank Cafe? Whatever you're able to add to your basket for us, everyone here at Bolton Hospice will be so grateful! Browse our Wishlist here - https://lnkd.in/emUSBJB4

  • Wow, what a lovely surprise from Hardscape Products Ltd! 🚲 Last week we were thrilled to receive such a generous donation from Hardscape, a beautiful bike for us to use as a raffle prize and raise vital funds to care for our patients and their families 💜 "As a company rooted in the Bolton community , we are proud to support Bolton Hospice, an organisation that holds a special place in the hearts of so many. Their incredible work provides care and comfort during life’s most challenging times. To contribute to their efforts, we have donated a bike, which we hope will help raise vital funds for the hospice and make a meaningful difference to the lives of those they support." • Good old #ThrowbackThursday post anyone?! Today we're re-shining a light on Harwood Heating, who last year chose to use the money they would have spent on Christmas cards and stamps to support Bolton Hospice instead 💜 Could your #Bolton Business follow suit, and consider helping local families create lasting memories this Christmas, rather than posting cards to an endless list of contacts?

With Christmas just around the corner we are preparing for our full calendar of events and activities in order to raise funds for Bolton Hospice. We therefore are asking for donations which can be used in our many raffles and tombolas. Items such as sweets, chocolates, wine, fizz, and gift sets etc. would be much appreciated. If you can donate any items please do drop them in at either the main reception at the hospice, or our fundraising department at Giles House, both on Chorley New Road. THANK YOU!
