To sell sugarcane Credits, a producer must be either: - A certified independent farmer who is also Bonsucro Chain of Custody certified - or a group manager certified against the Bonsucro Smallholder Production Standard Bonsucro Credits reward certified mills and farms for their commitment to sustainability. A portion of fees from Credit sales are invested directly in local impact initiatives, helping other farms and mills to adopt more sustainable practices. Call for proposals 📣 As we explore how to make the booming rum sector more sustainable, we're planning to develop a strategy for active engagement in the value chain. Ultimately, we aim to increase demand for Bonsucro-certified products, while helping rum producers deliver the new requirements to sell to specific markets. To help us develop this roadmap, we're looking for an experienced consultant to conduct a scoping study on the global rum supply chain. What did Assobari learn from testing no-till farming for sugarcane? No till farming is the practice of planting crops without digging, stirring, and turning the soil over. Over the last two years, Assobari and Coopercitrus worked together to test no-till and Integrated Crop – Livestock – Forestry Systems in sugarcane. They aimed to identify the productivity and sustainability benefits. The project is now completed - here is what they learned ⤵️ The project received a grant from the Bonsucro Impact Fund, powered by the sale of Bonsucro Credits. New grant opportunities will be out soon, watch this space!

Prácticas como el acceso a la sombra, saneamiento, agua potable y descansos regulares son cruciales para prevenir el estrés térmico entre los trabajadores, que a menudo laboran bajo altas temperaturas.
