*FREE* online Mental Health Awareness Training Delivered by NHS Hertfordshire Talking Therapies – working in partnership with Borras Construction Tuesday 14th January 2024 10am – 11am In the fast-paced and physically demanding world of construction, mental health issues can often go unnoticed, especially when work pressures and physical injuries can take centre stage. This session focuses on raising awareness of common mental health issues faced by construction workers and offers strategies for supporting teammates who may be dealing with stress, anxiety, depression, or other mental health difficulties. Learn how to recognise signs, initiate sensitive conversations, and provide support both on-site and beyond. Working with YMD Boon and EDGE for Harrow Council, this fantastic extension and refurbishment project to extend SEND facilities at Shaftesbury High School is now well underway … #SEND #refurbishment #maincontractor #education #inclusion

Congratulations to our General Contracts who have recently completed a much needed new SEND school in North London. The project has revitalized a building which had lain empty for several years and which, following an extensive programme of internal and external repairs, refurbishment and alteration, now provides the local community with outstanding education and opportunities for students aged 16 - 25 years old with special educational needs. The multi faceted programme included; - Demolition and internal alterations creating new modern classrooms and offices. - Refurbishment of the heritage front entrance façade. - Refurbishment of existing basement plant room. - External masonry repairs maintaining the heritage image. - Replacement of circa 95 windows. - Installation of Breathing Buildings controlled hybrid ventilation system - Installation of a new car park and landscaped area. - New Bauder roofing system. - Installation of an external metal staircase. As you can see from the photographs the final product looks fantastic and will provide invaluable places for the local community… congratulations to our General Contracts team and our thanks to all those involved. The Considerate Constructors inspectors visited twice during the programme, scoring the project an excellent 41 and 44 out of 45. #projectcompletion #maincontractor #SENDfacility #refurbishment #school

As many of you may be aware, back in October, a team from Borras braved the elements and undertook a gruelling sponsored walk around the western section of The Isle of Wight Coastal Path in order to raise funds for Macmillan Cancer Support, a charity close to many of our hearts. Today, a number of the team were delighted to welcome Vicki, a member of the Macmillan team, to our offices in order to present her with a cheque … an outstanding £12,850, which complete with Gift Aid took the funds raised to in excess of £15,000 … This is an outstanding achievement; HUGE congratulations to the team and all those involved, not forgetting of course our thanks to James Harrison for organising the event and to all those who supported the team… "We are thrilled to have the support of Borras Construction. The challenge the team set themselves was incredibly tough but not only did they successfully complete it they raised a phenomenal amount of money for people living with cancer too.
