[Partners] Our friends at Arbor Square Associates visited the Brackendale Consulting London office today, building on a strong, long-standing relationship between our CEO Fay Margo and Arbor Square’s Kevin McNally and Neil Sackett.  Over coffee, we had a great discussion about the value of specialist research and referencing consulting for GPs and LPs alike.   Arbor Square is a private markets expert specialising in fundraising references and stakeholder perception studies. Its services provide vital insight for GPs wanting to understand LP perspectives and how they stack up in the market against their peers. [Events] Brackendale Consulting's very own Archie Graves was up on stage earlier this week interviewing fund-of-funds SWEN Capital Partners' Renaud Serre-Lapergue on the topic of "Extra-Financial Reporting: The Evolving Requirements of LPs" at Private Equity Exchange. The session kicked off by defining the tangible benefits extra-financial reporting brings to LPs, GPs and wider society, as well as what investors are looking out for in these reports. Honing in on SWEN Capital Partners, they further examined how the firm incorporates extra-financial considerations for each stage of its investments, from initial screening to due diligence through to fund monitoring. They wrapped up by taking a prospective look at the future of extra-financial reporting, including the role of organisations such as France Invest when driving regulatory shifts and highlighting the need for standardisation to achieve meaningful progress. Our highlights include: 🔹 Kickstarting the event with a networking breakfast hosted by PEWIN - Private Equity Women Investor Network, which was a great opportunity to connect with fellow senior-level female investment professionals and share ideas across investing, equality and empowering female leaders 🔹PitchBook’s Dylan Cox, CFA setting the scene for the main event with some salient soundbites on where the private equity industry is heading. Although fundraising remains tough for emerging fund managers, buyout volume and value spiked in Q3 this year, gearing us up for the third highest year on record. Private capital is set to grow 33% to $19.6tn AUM globally by 2028 🔹Actively participating in a dynamic roundtable discussion on DE&I, a cause close to Brackendale’s heart, hosted by Adams Street Partners' Ana Maria Harrison. Topics ranged from how DE&I extends to many facets beyond just 'women', ways of promoting an inclusive business culture to fully embrace neurodiversity and how LPs are looking for fund managers that demonstrate a commitment to DE&I both in their portfolio companies as well as intrinsically in within their own firm 🔹 Attending a lively evening networking drinks hosted by our client Raymond James at the exclusive Yacht Club de Monaco 🔹SuperInvestor welcoming footballing legend Thierry Henry, who gave a candid account of his career and the lessons he's learnt along the way, including his observations on managing egos, mindset and mental health.
