With insightful speeches from Andy Cato at Wildfarmed and Mike Reader MP, we showcased how our partnerships with British farmers, producers, and suppliers help to drive a sustainable, resilient, and secure food supply chain. Our industry supports 1.5 million jobs and adds £57bn to the UK economy - yet much of our work happens behind the scenes. Events like this help raise awareness, spark collaboration, and drive change. It was a pleasure to have the opportunity to host a visit from the FareShare UK leadership team at our Harlow depot last week.   Their CEO, Kris Gibbon-Walsh, together with Commercial Managers HILARY NITHSDALE and Emma White, joined Sysco GB CEO, Paul Nieduszynski, and colleagues from across our businesses for a tour, to celebrate our partnership to date and to explore further opportunities for collaboration. 🤝   We were proud to learn that our donations of Fresh Direct (UK) fresh produce, mostly through Corby, has been a major support for enabling communities to access nutritious food and that we are their wholesale partner with the highest volume of food redistribution! 👏👏    This is a testament to our shared commitment towards combating food wastage and providing necessary support to our communities. 🌎💪 A huge thank you to all of our colleagues for making the visit a success! Brakes Foodservice sponsorship ensures each attendee is equipped with professional chef whites for participants to keep and ingredients for each cohort to create their dishes. And more flexible opportunities will help increase access to apprenticeships. So we're pleased the Government has responded to our calls for shorter apprenticeship courses and more flexibility in the minimum qualification requirements for English and Maths. 🙌   The introduction of a new Growth and Skills Levy also provides an opportunity to reform the system, creating flexibility to enable businesses like ours to invest in and train our workforce.
