We are absolutely thrilled to have been awarded a silver ruler in the 'Design for Good' category at this years brilliant Scottish Design Awards. Our winning project, in collaboration with Save the Children UK and Joseph Rowntree Foundation (JRF), is a series of animations that shed light on the harsh realities faced everyday by vulnerable children and their parents in Scotland. We had a super night at the ceremony, forging some new friendships on the dance floor. A huge congrats to all of the nominees and winners. 🎬 New Project: Articulate 🎬 We’re excited to share ‘Articulate’, an animated short film that gives voice to the stories and experiences of young people within Scotland’s care system. Developed with members from 'Our Hearings Our Voice', the film’s main character, Alex, embodies the diverse characteristics, circumstances, and experiences of these young people. ‘Articulate’ explores the profound impact that language—whether confusing, poorly considered, or negative—can have on the lives of young people in care. Through Alex's journey, the film highlights which language practices work, which don't, and offers actionable insights for positive change. 'We are the magic!' A collaboration with The Prince & Princess of Wales Hospice. Back in 2022, we were approached by a fantastic young adult via the Prince & Princess of Wales Hospice in Glasgow who had an idea! Feeling frustrated by the lack of accessible educational opportunities, they challenged us to think outside the box and come up with three creative programmes that we could take to patients at the hospice. Together, we designed a programme of photography, light painting, creative writing, rapping, filmmaking, and graphic design. Alongside the incredible Karen Dunbar and Beats Therapy, we collaborated to nurture talent and share their unique stories. This culminated in a celebration event in November 2023, showcasing the incredible work and talents of the patients and featured on BBC Radio Scotland. This journey has reaffirmed our belief in the magic of creativity to break down barriers and amplify voices. We're sending out a massive thank you to everyone who made this project possible, and of course, to the amazing team at The Prince & Princess of Wales Hospice for their incredible support.
