Brazilian Nickel and its 100%-owned subsidiary, Piauí Níquel Metais, are delighted to announce the receipt of a Letter of Interest (LoI) from theU.S. International Development Finance Corporation for a loan facility of up to $550 million to support the Piauí Nickel Project (PNP). This loan facility, covering nearly 40% of the project's total funding needs, represents a significant milestone in advancing the PNP towards full-scale production. Once operational, the project will produce 27,000 tonnes of nickel and 900 tonnes of cobalt annually using heap leaching technology, which offers substantial commercial and ESG-related benefits. The Letter of Interest underscores the strategic role of the PNP in addressing the increasing global demand for critical minerals essential to the energy transition and the security of supply chains. Furthermore, yesterday, our CEO Mark Travers participated in a panel discussion during the DFC’s 5th Anniversary Conference. The panel focused on global supply chain challenges and offered a platform to highlight the PNP’s role in supporting the energy transition. Mark shared insights into the project's heap leaching process, emphasizing its cost efficiency, environmental advantages, and contribution to sustainably meeting the rising demand for nickel. We are proud to partner with DFC on this transformative initiative and look forward to advancing our shared vision for the Piauí Nickel Project. #BrazilianNickel #PiauiNickelProject #CriticalMinerals #EnergyTransition
