🗣️ BESA MIDLANDS MEMBER MEETING 🗣️ Peter Curtis recently chaired the BESA Group Midlands Member Meeting with Briggs & Forrester Group helping to arrange the Northamptonshire County Cricket Club as a venue, due to our ongoing sponsorship of the club. The main topic of the meeting was the Building Safety Act and its impact on the construction industry with insightful talks by both Rachel Davidson and Brian Hughes. 🔩 PROJECT UPDATE 🔩 Briggs & Forrester Living are progressing well on the Indigo Apartments project, located in Peterborough, for Willmott Dixon on behalf of Cross Keys Homes. At the start of October, the team successfully handed over Block A, which includes 131 apartments. Block B is at second fix stage across all floors with the townhouses across both Block A & B following closely behind. Once complete the overall development will provide 37no townhouses and 278no apartments over two linked blocks. On the ground floor towards the rear of the development there are back of house areas including refuse and cycle stores as well as the plantrooms serving the developments. #Construction #Engineering #BuildingServices #MEP #ProjectProgress #Residential

🔩 PROJECT UPDATE 🔩 Acting as Principal Contractor for the West Northamptonshire Council, Briggs & Forrester Special Projects have been working on the Rural Leisure Centres decarbonisation programme. The scheme, covering four leisure centres – Moulton, Daventry, Brackley and Towcester, includes the decarbonisation of the existing gas fired heating systems on site from fossil fuel to air source heat pumps as well as the installation of photovoltaic systems and associated builders work. The new systems incorporate upgrades to the heating service including new air handling unit coils and radiators. The team have completed works to the Moulton and Brackley sites, achieving Practical Completion and handover to the client. The outstanding sites, Daventry and Towcester are nearing completion. Daventry required meticulous planning and co-ordination to transform the existing unused flat roof space to incorporate 13no 100kW ASHP’s. The works to Towcester leisure centre involved the construction of a 17m2 concrete plant base and 5m high acoustic screen at the rear of the building, which now houses 16no 100kw ASHP’s and 4x 6000ltr thermal stores. Across the scheme we have had the pleasure of working in collaboration with Ridge and Partners LLP, Atlas Commercial Consultants Limited, Strebel UK and West Northamptonshire Council. The project is funded via the Salix Public Sector Decarbonisation Scheme and has been secured via the Fusion21 Decarbonisation Framework. #Construction #MEP #BuildingServices #Engineering #ProjectProgress #Decarbonisation

⭐PROJECT COMPLETION⭐ Located in South Birmingham, Briggs & Forrester Engineering Services acted as Principal Contractor for the fit out of builder’s work, M&E and other specialist services, to a newly constructed portal frame building, Waters Longbridge. Waters Corporation is a global leader in analytical instruments and software and the new Longbridge site will be home to their new manufacturing facility. The main aim of this facility was to provide flexibility to the end user, by creating a space in which their machinery could be moved around to suit their ever-evolving manufacturing processes. Briggs & Forrester Engineering Services have successfully delivered the project to programme and most importantly it has been delivered safely, with zero accidents or incidents throughout the project, which is a great achievement and something we strive for on all of our projects.
