  • 🌈 FLYING THE FLAG FOR INCLUSIVE SPORT 🌈 At this point in 2024, between the headlines, dark nights, and the all-consuming force of Black Friday and Christmas sales, here at BBF HQ we felt motivated to share some of the amazing stories from the last 12 months. In particular, we've worked closely with several communities in the sporting world who do brilliant work to support their people: inclusivity being the goal, Brewed to Give being the means by which we can support them. These communities have told us just what our support has meant to them - in real numbers - and the words were so eloquently written we wanted to share them with our own communities. AKA, the people who drink BBF at the pub and order it online, because every beer you buy gives back to Bristol. Would you like a dose of feel-good this Monday? • We're one week into the AMPLIFY SERIES and the first release, FULL THROTTLE 4.4%, has already sold out. An amazing achievement for the pubs and sales teams, and a testimony to the excitement around a BBF series. To raise a glass of all 4 AMPLIFY beers with us, side by side for the first time on FRIDAY 15TH NOVEMBER, message Kezia Gorman for more details. For trade enquiries please email sales@bristolbeerfactory.co.uk Every year (at least!) we take the opportunity to explore the latest flavours and techniques in brewing by releasing a collection of forward-looking beers on the theme of the series, spanning cask, keg and can. The latest series, AMPLIFY, reflects on the fast rise in brand-new hop and yeast tech over the last two years. Created in the lab, these ingredients now bring a modern boost to both flavour and sustainability. These innovations are not simple, they will adapt and expand flavour whilst taking some serious explaining from us, BBF, to the drinker. A classic limited edition series allows us this space to explore this future with our customers. We've crossed the Rubicon, from hop-boosted oil to hybrid biotransforming yeast. Welcome to the next brewing level. AMPLIFIED. Pouring October - November 2024

  • This #WorldMentalHealthDay, we're sharing words of wisdom from our Clear Head ambassador, Bristol City's Abi Harrison. 'Cos keeping a CLEAR HEAD? That goes hand in hand with taking that shot, even with your bad foot. Clear Head 0.5% is Bristol's BEER FOR GOOD: 5% of sales go direct to #TalkClub, helping men improve their mental fitness. To date, BBF has donated £80k to Talk Club, supporting their growth and activations beyond pubs and gyms and into professional settings and kids' communities. Earlier this year, through our #BrewedtoGive initiative, we were able to host a Clear Head training session and Q&A (more like inspiring pep talk!) between Abi and the local Ashton Gate U16 girls, tying the invisible laces between football, open conversations, mental health, and the BBF community. • What happened when Chris Grimes asked our MD, Sam Burrows, to share the 'story-behind-the-story' of Bristol Beer Factory and our community initiatives? We got a no-holds-barred insight into what it means to be an honest and humble leader of an independent brewery! "If you want to see what success looks like, it’s all about empowerment and that trust that comes from empowerment, so that the people that lead and run our teams – the different departments across our business – they are the ones that make the difference and allow me to do the projects I’m working on. They’re the guys that push this business forward and that takes trust, which is categorically number one. Me, I keep my nose out of everything and you know that’s what empowerment is, isn’t it? It’s allowing people to flourish, to develop, to learn… you almost want to make yourself redundant. That’s how I feel, if I’m doing my job as well as I can and empowering the people within the business to do their jobs as well as they can, they’ll hopefully be a little bit blinkered by their departments which leaves me to keep steering the ship." Sam Burrows You can now watch the whole interview, recorded live at Studio BBF for the Good Listening To Podcast, on YouTube: https://lnkd.in/ewVRamj3 #leadership #empowerment #trust #management #independentbusiness #community #bristolbeerfactory #drinkwithpurpose

  • 💥 WELCOME TO HOP FUTURES 💥 DID YOU KNOW that although all newly developed hops enter the market with a reference code, only the TRULY ELITE end up getting an actual name? Once the hop merchants have seen how a new hop is used by select brewers, it may get a moniker. Think of iconic and well-known hops, Citra and Mosaic – doesn’t the name conjure all the feels? Brewed as a platform for ELITE TRIAL-HOP CREATIONS, returning IPA special SAY MY NAME 5.0% embraces PURE PROGRESSION. Each time we brew SAY MY NAME (this is the third time in can, and counting), we use hops so new, they are still operating under a code name only. The hop showcased in the last version of SAY MY NAME was HBC 586, a hop we all agreed was hella special. We committed to putting it in new permanent beer, EVERYTIME 3.8%, even before it got a name. We didn’t even know if it would get named. That hop is now known as KRUSH, and you can bet you'll be seeing it pop up a lot more on the craft beer scene in 2025! Elite trial hops are not reserved for typically trend-driven keg and can IPAs. Like with EVERYTIME, we push the boundaries with cask. Take OUR HOUSE 4.2%, the natural follow-on from SAY MY NAME 5.0%. While the latter showcased the world-leading, newest, punchiest Yakima Chief Hops from America, OUR HOUSE focused closer to home with brand new hops from a similarly forward-thinking hop-breeding program by Charles Faram. OUR HOUSE is a platform for the newest and most progressive British hops. Charles Faram & Co Ltd ‘CF’ trial hops are designed to shine bright in pale ales. This is unusual. British hops are generally best at adding bitterness and are better suited to not being the star flavour of a beer; instead, more subtly contributing to a bitter or mild, or hidden away entirely in a big roasty stout. CF hops maintain some element of classic British hop notes such as vegetal, herbaceous, or hedgerow, but they are bred to create and highlight more modern hop flavours like pine, fruit, citrus. In the most recent twist on OUR HOUSE, we showcased hops CF298 and CF299, as well as a whole new process that addresses some of the sustainability challenges around hop growing. Specifically, it shone a light on UK hops created in English fields then grown in the iconic Yakima Valley U.S West Coast. The result was UK smoothness meets American hop energy, and an effective use of beer miles; ironically, it isn’t necessarily more sustainable to use hops grown closer to home. UK hops need more energy to grow VS American hops which grow plentifully, plus their large-scale farms can make more effective choices than the smaller UK producers. By producing the hops in the UK and then growing in the States, you get to support local business while getting the tastiest hops. What's next? Fresh from the U.S fields, the latest hop featured in SAY MY NAME is an American hop that BREAKS THE PURE CITRUS NORM. Expect tropical with a blitz of ORANGE, COCONUT AND PEACH. WELCOME TO THE GAME: HBC 1019.

  • 🍻 CHEERS TO OCTOBER 🍻 For some, October is a time to try going ALCOHOL FREE. Others swerve #SOBEROCTOBER and theirs is a CLEAR HEAD year-round. Or just on Mondays. So instead of slamming our customer's feeds and inboxes with sober-specific spam, we're celebrating everything Clear Head 0.5% has achieved for the TALK CLUB COMMUNITY. With 5% of TOTAL SALES donated to Talk Club, this is a BEER FOR GOOD. Since we began collaborating with Talk Club, the donations from the sale of Clear Head has helped the team take on permanent offices at the Tobacco Factory over the road as well as recruiting their first full-time employee. And the growth doesn’t stop there. BBF’s input to date has hit £80k and counting!   There's another reason it's Bristol's best AF beer: it also TASTES GOOD. With big hitting U.S hops CITRA and MOSAIC, this beer has plenty of punch as well as a subtle smooth creamy sweetness. Thanks to the addition of lactose makes this alcohol-free IPA a firm favourite for those who like beers with body.    That's Bristol AF. https://lnkd.in/egGTnVsQ #bristolbeerfactory #drinkwithpurpose
