We're thrilled to be able to announce the talented writers joining our New Writing mission. As part of the theatre’s Five Year Commitment residency – a programme of support for UK writing talent at all stages of their careers - Hannah Khalil, Sam Parker and Muneera Pilgrim have been invited to join award-winning playwright Winsome Pinnock in the scheme. The writers will be on attachment to Bristol Old Vic until January 2030.  This cohort of writers represents Bristol Old Vic’s desire to support homegrown talent based in and from the South West region alongside nurturing inspiring voices from across the country, with the intention of sharing their work with audiences here in Bristol. Alongside the Five Year Commitment, Bristol Old Vic’s ambition to support Early Career playwrights took a leap forward with the announcement of the four writers who have joined the theatre’s inaugural Early Career Writers Group.  Open to writers based in the South West, this is a new free-to-access programme hosted by Bristol Old Vic and led by local playwright Ross Willis (Wolfie, Wonder Boy) to support those at the very beginning of their career to take bold next steps with their practice.  Sukina Noor, Erin Peacock, Raynor Taylor and Roxana Vilk are the first cohort of this scheme and are working with BOV from December 2024 to May 2025. ✨ New Year, New Trustees at Bristol Old Vic!   Today we announce four new appointments to our Board of Trustees, following an open recruitment process in 2024, as we continue to strengthen our governance and representation to support the theatre’s ambitions. We’re honoured to welcome four new Trustees to our Board: 🌟 LaToyah McAllister-Jones (Deputy Chair from April 2025) -Executive Director of St Pauls Carnival and Bristol community leader.  🌟 Beth Byrne - Creative Director at Warwick Arts Centre with 25 years’ theatre experience.  🌟 Timi Oni - Strategic Communications expert in brand building and audience engagement.  🌟 Christopher Sharp KC- Bristol-based King’s Counsel and passionate arts advocate.
