🌱 The last panel of the day, "Modal Shift - Ambition vs Reality," which took a close look at how parking can impact reducing carbon emissions across All-Ireland, has now come to a close. Despite the positives that cars can offer in terms of autonomy and convenience, this session looked at parking solutions that can reduce traffic and air pollution, and improve health and quality of life. A number of solutions were proposed by our panelists, who were Richard Walker, BPA President, Denise Keoghan, Principal Officer at the Department for Transport, and David Clements, from the National Travel Authority. This included a look at the BPA's Park Active scheme, which facilitates parking and then walking or cycling to destinations to protect areas from traffic, as well as implementing Mobility Hubs across Ireland and supporting rural areas through transport schemes 🚴♀️🚶🌳 Thank you everyone for a fabulous last panel for the All-Ireland Parking Show 2024. 🚓 Transport Minister Louise Haigh MP Speaks Out on Keeping Roads Safe This morning, during oral questions on transport, Josh Babarinde OBE CF MP brought up the issue of illegal road users and the importance of keeping our roads safe, making special mention of Alan Wood's NPED. The minister announced that she has met with the DVSA on the topic and will continue to meet experts on the matter. Keeping our roads safe is of the utmost importance, so it's reassuring to see such an important issue raised, and even better to hear that our government is taking the issue seriously. #SaferParking #PersistentEvaders
Josh calls for crackdown on illegal road use (and praises Jamie at Seven Sisters Garage!)
