Reflecting on an impactful 2024 at Broad Horizons! 🌟🤔 Last year, we took significant steps forward, expanding our team with more therapists and even welcoming a new mascot (a sloth 🦥!). We rebranded alongside the amazing Hannah Brady 👩🏽💻 , launched a collaboration project with Right resolutions fabulous Director, Amarjit Pawar to support care-experienced young people, and partnered with Frameworks to deliver therapeutic services across five local authorities. Our work with 10 schools and organizations in the Midlands, providing trauma training and wellbeing support, further emphasized our commitment to enhancing mental health in education. In addition, we provided a safe, central space for therapists in Northampton to operate, fostering collaboration and growth. Networking events enabled us to connect with professionals across various sectors to continue our learning and development. Looking ahead to 2025, we’re excited to build on these initiatives, expanding collaboration opportunities and increasing our training offerings. Our mission remains clear: to continue providing timely and accessible therapeutic support while nurturing partnerships that drive positive change. We look forward to an even more impactful year ahead! #BroadHorizons #MentalHealth #TherapyServices #CommunityPartnerships #GrowthIn2025 #CareForAll #goals2025 #collaboration

🌟 Box Breathing: A Simple Tool for Busy Professionals to Stay Grounded 🌟 The holiday season often amplifies the stress of already demanding jobs. From meeting deadlines to juggling personal responsibilities, it’s easy to feel stretched too thin. This is where Box Breathing can make all the difference. What is Box Breathing?🎁 A quick and effective way to calm your mind and body, Box Breathing is perfect for those high-pressure moments. It follows four simple steps, each lasting four counts: 1️⃣ Inhale for 4 counts 2️⃣ Hold your breath for 4 counts 3️⃣ Exhale for 4 counts 4️⃣ Pause for 4 counts To enhance the practice, close your eyes and visualize drawing a square as you breathe. Imagine: Drawing the first side of the square as you inhale, Drawing the second side as you hold your breath, Completing the third side as you exhale, And finishing the square as you pause before starting again. Repeat this 3-4 times, and you’ll feel more centered and in control. Why It Works: In high-stress environments, your nervous system can become overstimulated. Box Breathing slows your breath and interrupts the stress response, helping you regain focus, reduce anxiety, and create a moment of calm amidst the chaos. Try It Anywhere: In a meeting, before a tough conversation, or even during your commute, Box Breathing is your pocket-sized stress reliever. This season, remember to pause, close your eyes, and take a moment for yourself. Calm is just a breath (and a square!) away. 🧘♂️ #StressRelief #Mindfulness #BoxBreathing #WorkplaceWellbeing #ProfessionalResilience Claire Harrison-Breed Sarah Noblekendrick Hannah Slaymaker

As we approach the holiday season, it’s important to remember that not everyone enjoys the hustle and bustle of Christmas parties or festivities. For some, this time of year can be overwhelming, whether due to sensory sensitivities, social anxiety, or simply a preference for quieter moments. As leaders and colleagues, let’s create an environment where people feel comfortable stepping back if they need to. Encourage pauses, offer flexibility, and respect personal boundaries. We all experience this time of year differently, and showing empathy allows everyone to feel supported and valued. This holiday season, let’s prioritize understanding and kindness over expectations 💙 #Leadership #EmployeeWellbeing #InclusiveWorkplace #MentalHealthMatters

Stand with Mind ✊ Like and share this post to help protect mental health funding from further cuts. Together, we can ensure mental health services receive the support they desperately need👇 #StandWithMind #MentalHealthMatters
This is urgent 🚨 The UK government is about to make a huge decision on NHS priorities and mental health funding and we need your support to make sure they don't make a catastrophic mistake ⬇ We’re worried they could remove the Mental Health Investment Standard (MHIS) which guarantees a certain amount of funding for mental health services at a local level in England. This decision would be a devastating step backwards. People with mental health problems and those waiting to get help will lose out. We can't let this happen. We’re doing as much as we can behind the scenes but we need your help too: 👍 Like and share this post. 💭 Comment below and tell Keir Starmer and Wes Streeting this decision would be a mistake. Mental health already doesn’t get its fair share of funding. This will make things even worse. We can’t afford to lose funding for mental health services when there are already 2 million people on waiting lists for mental health support. Please do what you can to help us show how catastrophic this decision would be.

At Broad Horizons we are highlighting the significant impact of long waiting times for therapeutic intervention, particularly for care-experienced young people and those who have experienced trauma. In our shared mission to address these systemic delays, we are working alongside Right Resolution CIC for timely access to support for those who need it most. While physical injuries are treated with urgency, emotional and psychological wounds are too often left unaddressed, leaving individuals to navigate their challenges without the support they desperately need. We’re calling for change to ensure that no young person or adult is left waiting for the healing they deserve. In our latest blog, we explore the critical need for timely intervention and how we can collectively work to reduce waiting times and improve outcomes and invite you to join the conversation.⏰ Mind has brought together data about mental health problems, stigma and discrimination, alongside real people's experiences, into one annual report, to give a full picture of the state of mental health right now. The Key recommendations from the report include that the UK Government should: o Ensure reform of the Mental Health Act strengthens people's rights, choice and control while they’re in a mental health hospital. o Establish a Mental Health Investment Standard in England for capital funding. This will help make sure any future investment is fairly allocated to mental health redevelopment and improvement schemes, including both estates and digital innovation. o Make sure the delivery of early support hubs truly supports young people with their mental health. o Implement its manifesto pledge to expand mental health support to all schools in England. o Put a mental health policy test in place across England so all national policies and decisions are made with mental health in mind. o Make sure our benefits system supports people to live with independence and dignity. o Create workplaces that support people with their mental health. This should include the implementation of the 2017 Thriving at Work Review to help more people with a mental health problem to stay and thrive in work. #BroadHorizons #RightResolutionsCIC #TherapeuticIntervention #TraumaSupport #TimelyCareMatters #CareExperienced #mind Claire Harrison-Breed Amarjit Pawar
