We're proud of every colleague who has taken the time to fundraise for a charity and support a cause close to their heart. We take a look back at some of the fundraising activities our colleagues took part in this year and find out why they decided to challenge themselves to support a cause that is meaningful to them. Erin Brown "I chose to run the Edinburgh Marathon to challenge myself physically and mentally (as a non-runner prior to January, it was tough!), and of course to raise money for St Columba's Hospice Care. A charity that means a lot to me and provides incredible care for people coming to the end of their life at the hospice itself, or even in their own homes." Cheryl Hyams "A good friend of mine is suffering really badly from long Covid and I wanted to do something positive, Long Covid Support are quite a small charity so I knew anything I was able to raise would make a big difference to them. I also wanted to raise more awareness of long Covid as it's something a lot of people aren't aware of. " Ashley B."To challenge myself and support a cause close to my heart, having had family and close friends affected by cancer, including my mum. Without the work Cancer Research UK (CRUK) do in developing treatments, they wouldn't be here today and contributing to further research to detect, treat and prevent cancer is so important to me." Louise Laing "My daughter and her P2 classmates lost their teacher to cancer. As a way of remembering their teacher, and giving the children something positive to think and talk about." Cancer Research UK (CRUK) Fiona D. "It was fantastic way to challenge myself physically while supporting a great cause. It was an opportunity to join a community of like-minded individuals, all working together to make a difference to raise funds to fight against breast cancer." Walk the Walk Worldwide #BrodiesPeople
