A decent outing today. Wet and tough conditions in the rain up north in Sheffield for the Green team. Cieron Bell was outstanding both sides of the ball. A comprehensive win for the whites, great to have Holly Malins back after a few weeks out. A 50-0 win for our Academy side too! Mel Burnett with a hat trick, and Amy Grace-Tshuma with 15 points too.

A big welcome to the Swans. Cece will make her debut in Green and White this weekend. Alongside Cece, team mates Amy Orrow and our Lightning contingent Tiwaah Adjei-Ansere, Cieron Bell, Sarah Smart and Sydney Mead will be in the matchday squad this weekend away to Sheffield. 50% of the matchday squad is under 23, including 2 18 year olds. We’re building for the NOW and the FUTURE. Our White Team travel to ONs and our Academy host Gosford All Blacks.

Community rugby was the winner yesterday!! A huge shout out to BRACKLEY RUGBY UNION FOOTBALL CLUB LIMITED for hosting our Championship fixture at an hours notice. Unfortunately due to travel circumstances which led to a delayed KO, we had to move grounds as we needed floodlights with a new schedule KO at 16:00… (anyone who has contacts and wishes to support us erect new lights at Buckingham would be greatly appreciated!) Mark Ashton, Brackley RFC Chairman was a terrific host, finding space in a busy club due to them hosting girls rugby in the afternoon. Mark single handedly created space for the WPL bus, kept bar staff at the club for longer, allowed us to sort post match food and everything in between. Thank you Mark… In return; it was time for us to entertain the crowd! A great showcase for the Brackley and Northampton Casuals girls to see a brilliant Championship fixture and they even recognised a couple of faces from Loughborough Lightning in the Swans Matchday squad! Hopefully the large crowd put some money behind the bar. We mustn’t forget our thanks to “Sir” for his patience and willingness to be apart of the chaos! He dealt out a couple of cards to thank us 😂 I think our 2 Academy players will remember their 1st XV debut for some time. #communityrugby #rugbyfamily #network #womensrugby #pathway #uptheswans

We are priding ourselves on youngsters coming through our pathways currently. This weekend featured 2 great performances… but 24 players under the age of 23 ran out in green and white this week.
