  • It wasn’t only our students who were back in school after a long break last week. Our Bucks Hub teacher trainees started on their new career path too. We are delighted to welcome graduates with an array of different backgrounds and skills into our 2024/25 cohort of student teachers across our partner schools in Buckinghamshire and Hertfordshire. Here are just a couple of our supremely talented students for this academic year: * Rachael has worked in the design, fashion and textiles industries for 30 years and is eager to use this invaluable experience to inspire new generations to find a career they enjoy. She is training as a Design & Technology teacher. * Aleisha is an alumna of our Bucks Hub Lead Partner. She graduated last year with a degree in Computer Science from Royal Holloway, University of London and is passionate about introducing students to exciting advancements in technology to ignite their curiosity and enthusiasm for learning. Her experience of excellent teaching at her alma mater has encouraged her to train as a Computing teacher with The Bucks Hub. If these stories inspire you to take that first step towards a career change or a postgraduate career as a teacher, take a look at the excellent training programme we offer via The Bucks Hub. The next recruitment cycle for Initial Teacher Training (ITT) opens next week for training places starting in September 2026. Places are awarded on a ‘first come, first served’ basis, so if you too are motivated to share the joy of learning your particular subject with the next generation, then make sure to get your application in asap. For more information about how to apply, as well as The Bucks Hub Partnership and more detail about the particular school-based route to teacher qualification that we offer, visit: Train to Teach | Dr Challoner's High School (challonershigh.com)
