Last week, we had the pleasure of hosting our Supply Chain Morning and Annual Staff Conference, both held at the fantastic Halesowen College Bistro at B63—a hidden gem offering conference and meeting facilities to local businesses. The morning began with an overview of our business and ambitious plans for growth. Matt Burton from Constructionline joined us to provide insights into compliance standards and what we need from our ever-growing supply chain. Our Social Value Manager, Sam Shaw, also shared exciting upcoming social value initiatives and how we can work together to make a meaningful impact in local communities. In the afternoon, we welcomed our amazing team for a session packed with idea-sharing, plans for expansion, and discussions on how we can support one another. We were privileged to be joined by Steve Hewitt, who shared his inspiring Gymshark journey and how its values and principles align with BSN’s vision. A huge thank you to Stacey Rogers and the events team at Halesowen College for helping the day run seamlessly, and to Steve Hewitt for his thought-provoking talk—it truly gave us all something to think about! What a Night at the #Kili4Kids Quiz! 🧠🐾 A huge thank you to everyone who joined us last night to support the #Kili4Kids campaign for Birmingham Children’s Hospital Charity. Your generosity and enthusiasm made the evening a fantastic success! We’re thrilled to share that £850 was raised from the raffle alone, with the final total still being counted. It was wonderful to see our amazing supply chain and local businesses coming together to support such an important cause and cheer on BSN’s Kilimanjaro climbers. 🌟 Empowering Futures with All Saints Community Inclusion Plus Group 🌟 Last week, we had the privilege of participating in a social value event with the incredible All Saints Community Inclusion Plus Group in Kings Heath, a vital part of our social value plan here at BSN. Over the past few months, our Social Value Manager has been working closely with the Inclusion Plus Group to help young adults overcome employment barriers and prepare them to succeed in a professional setting. Inclusion Plus Group supports young adults facing challenges that may prevent them from securing long-term employment. Together, we have focused on strengthening interview skills, building self-confidence, and creating a strong personal narrative that allows them to effectively showcase the valuable skills they have acquired. Last Friday, this hard work paid off as the group participated in mock interviews with businesses who generously volunteered their time to offer realistic and supportive interview practice. The young adults truly shined, approaching the experience with enthusiasm and resilience. Our volunteers were exceptional, bringing adaptability and encouragement that allowed the group to get the most out of the morning. These initiatives are essential, not just for supporting young people in developing communication and self-presentation skills, but also for highlighting the benefits of neurodiverse employees in the workforce. Neurodiverse individuals bring unique perspectives, strong problem-solving skills, and resilience that greatly enrich any team. Thank you to everyone who made this day possible.
