Thank you Anthony Rose, founder of SeedLegals, for a great afternoon discussing what we're up to at Building Passport. Check out the highlights of our podcast below for a quick summary of the problem we're solving for the #RealEstate industry. #cretech #proptech #buildinginformation #ai
If you live in an apartment block you'll know that having the documents for the building, shared by the landlord and building service company with the occupants, is a nightmare. So, meet Rupert Parker from https://lnkd.in/eQr82qzK who's fixing that. I think of it as a data room for buildings. With 44 million (!) buildings in the UK and new laws requiring owners of any building over 18m tall to have a documentation sharing system in place with occupants, it's a huge market. Every day I meet amazing founders on SeedLegals, I love helping them share their story. Drop Rupert a note to find out more.

Head of Marketing and Events for The Housing Innovation Show, Housing Innovation Awards and The Northern Housing Awards
I was London-bound today, attending the Disruptive Innovators Network conference to learn about the main topics of the day in Housing, around 'Innovation'. It was great to see so many actual innovators in one room, and the variety of talks was impressive! One great innovation was explained by Iain Hulse and Scott Moon who are currently building 46 3D-printed houses in Accrington, their whole ethos was about Building for Humanity CIC (also the name of their company). Showing a true collaboration of industries and sectors, their partners in Tech, Architecture and Construction were also there to support something that has the potential to save time and money for the future of housing. The panel discussion, chaired by Annemarie Roberts, CIHCM MBA, tried to tackle the future of housing topic further with Dave Loudon from Digital Bark kicking off and explaining we need to get the basics right first before we start to look at how tech can change things, but Tom Robins counteracted this argument with the message that innovation needs to be done now. Paul Norman from Clarion Housing Group continued in the same vein, saying that maybe you don't have to be a 'leader' to show leadership which provided a bit of debate and Mat Colmer from Innovate UK brought it back to the reason why we were there: We need to make these ideas STICK for true innovation to emerge! Gary Bellenger, Home and Sustainability Director, ASTER HOMES and Rhiannon Gibbs, Owner of Ad Esse Consulting gave us a 'compare and contrast' exercise from 1994-2054 - which proved how far we had come in 30 years, and then started to discuss what the world will look like in 30 years' time: Decarbonisation, AI and quantum computing, smart cities, healthcare advances and diversity gave a rosy picture of progression, but was balanced with the dark side of climate change, climate resilience, an ageing population and devolution - the main takeaway from this was how well-equipped are you (in housing) for this inevitable future? David George (AIEMA), Sustainability & Asset Data Manager from CHP provided a good case study of how Switchee collaboratively work together for the 'greater good' in gathering data and assisting transformative change. Kate Roberts backed up their now pro-active culture beautifully. Building Passport took a 'lightening pitch' session, explaining how they make life easier with one 'fundamental' source of data for all a client's buildings, and the last session of the day saw Mat Colmer address what Innovate UK do for data innovation, technology Innovation and process Innovation - over the whole of the UK housing sector. An example of this involved a Tesla, cameras and drones to survey buildings - opening up a quick and effective way of gathering huge amounts of data! Provoked debate on all the issues was palatable in and outside of the presentation room, and Ian Wright and team deserve a huge 'well done' for getting this together!
