These Meta Ads numbers look pretty and it's reflective of a job well done by the team. But there is no way these results would be possible if... ❌ The product was uninspiring ❌ The offer was priced too high ❌ The market was oversaturated ❌ The branding was weak ❌ The customer experience was poor We deserve some credit for our strategy, creative development and technical execution, yes 😅 But if nobody wants to buy your product, everything else fails.

The brands that GET social do four things really well 👇 They make content that is... ✅ Culturally literate – it speaks the audience's language, shows that they understand the nuances and context of the subculture. E.g. they are 'in' on the jokes. ✅ Timely – it taps into the current conversation. It's not too late to the party e.g. referencing Hawk Tuah 3 months after it was most relevant. ✅ Relevant to brand – there's a natural fit and connection to the brand. There's no shoehorning, which can come across as cringy (like a financial institution talking about brat summer). ✅ Native to platform – they don't use their TV crew to shoot and edit high-production videos and post them to TikTok. They make TikToks. If your content ticks all four boxes, you're doing it right 👏

Unpacking the most common Meta Ads mistake 🚨👇 ❌ Using metrics like CPM (cost per 1,000 impressions) and CPC (cost per click) to assess ad performance, when your goal is to generate conversions. You could be forgiven for assuming that more ad impressions = more clicks = more conversions, but that is not how it works. The simple explanation is that it costs more to reach higher-converting customers, and it's worth paying more to reach these shoppers as long as the conversion rate is proportionally increased in line with the ad space cost ✅ Full explanation below 🔬 There are many different placements across Meta (think Instagram Stories vs Reels vs Facebook feed), and the cost of advertising in those placements is influenced by several factors, such as who the audience is, the level of competition from other advertisers, app usage rates, and algorithm changes ⚙️ Some users are more expensive to reach than others – someone who frequently buys products they discover on Instagram will be more expensive to reach than someone who often clicks ads out of intrigue but never buys. Users behave differently in each placement too, and some placements convert into sales more efficiently than others. Just like property is more expensive in a 'better' area, ads are more expensive in a 'better' placement 🏡💷 Meta automatically determines who, when and where to show your ads to generate conversions as efficiently as possible, regardless of CPM or CPC. And Meta does this better than you ever could manually (it is smarter than you, sorry). So if your campaign objective is to generate conversions, don't turn off ads just because they have a high CPM or CPC 🛑 Focus on the metrics that actually drive your business forward 🚀 DM's are open if it's time for a Meta Ads refresh 👋

Social Media is effectively TV with infinite channels 📱🍿 The difference is people can simply scroll past the adverts to get to the 'good stuff'. People don't follow your brand to be served endless stock images of your products, and if that's what your content strategy is based on, it primes your audience to skip past your brand every time you post something 🥱⏬ The beauty is there are so many different forms and angles your content strategy can take, and every brand can have its own core narrative. You have full control over your 'TV channel'. This is important because most of the fastest-growing consumer brands that have emerged in the past decade have social at the heart of their growth strategy ⚡️
