We are thrilled to announce that Burroughs has won the Infrastructure Project Highly Commended 2024 at the CIHT Cymru Wales Awards for The Rehabilitation of Dolgarrog Pipe Bridge as an Active Travel Route Project! This collaborative project with Dŵr Cymru Welsh Water, Conwy County Borough Council, envolve infrastructure and JBF Group transformed a historic (c.1916) braced truss rail bridge into a vital active travel link. Now, it not only supports two essential water mains for over 43,000 people but also reconnects rural communities to active travel routes and their railway station. A fantastic example of innovation, heritage preservation, and the principles of the Wellbeing of Future Generations Act in action. Once nearing closure due to safety concerns, the historic (c.1916) braced truss rail bridge has been rejuvenated. 🌉 Now, it not only supports two essential water mains serving over 43,000 people but also reconnects rural communities to active travel routes and their local railway station.
