A Tale Of Two Toms: “Your mission, should you choose to accept it…” A phrase synonymous with Mission Impossible and in 2018, the sixth incarnation of the Tom Cruise franchise was one of the biggest-selling films of the year. That same year, Tom O’Connell launched, and became Branch Director of our Leeds office, now one of six regional offices we’ve opened up across the country, including in Scotland and Wales. The similarities between the two Toms are obvious and plentiful: looks – naturally; they share the same initials (kinda); their work ethics are legendary; both work with an elite crew; both love a challenge, and they both do their own stunts. No body-double for 'our' Tom when going in for a slide-tackle on the footy pitch! With the success that we now know C&C Leeds has enjoyed, it would be easy to think it would always be a nailed-on-certainty. But nothing ever is... C&C Put Service In The Spotlight At Restaurant Awards The C&C brand continued its journey into the hospitality world last Monday, as we sponsored the Service Excellence category at the Restaurant Association Gala Dinner and Awards, which took place at the iconic Savoy Hotel, in London. The prestigious Gala Dinner is a highlight of the year for the hospitality industry, bringing together leading figures to celebrate excellence, innovation, and achievement within the sector. As part of the evening's celebrations, the annual gala dinner included the first-ever Restaurant Association Awards to recognise the talent that drives the industry forward. The event was hosted by Restaurant Association President, Robert Walton MBE, who along with his wife Donna, owns Langdon Manor Court, a country house event venue in Devon. Robert is our client, and we were keen to support the inaugural awards ceremony by sponsoring the Service Excellence category.

Take a look at this stunning property! Your home is probably the biggest single purchase you'll ever make and is often your most valuable asset. It is equally important to ensure that you are adequately insured. My client and I spent a considerable amount of time discussing insurance, as this process wasn’t as straightforward as it may seem. The property is complete and now serves as a main residence. Here’s what we had to consider: - **Renovations**: While the property looks incredible now, it was once a dated 1930s house that underwent extensive building work. After explaining the importance of renovation coverage, my client agreed that having this protection would provide peace of mind. Should anything go wrong, the renovations cover would activate and prevent delays in the work on the property. - **Construction**: The wrap-around extension doubled the square footage of the property. We transitioned from a red brick structure to a combination of red brick, steel frame, zinc cladding, and an entirely glazed rear exterior. A significant portion of the rear extension features a flat roof. Finding the right insurer was a top priority. We aimed to present an insurer who could provide a quote and thoroughly understood the construction specifics of the property. - **Amenities**: The property boasts an art gallery, gym, sauna, and much more. It was essential to ensure that the insurer was comfortable with the various amenities within the property. - **Sums Insured**: Naturally, a property of this size and stature comes with high insured amounts. We completed a thorough contents inventory in addition to the insurer's survey to ensure that my client was not underinsured. No expense was spared on the interior design, which included sofas from the French company Roche Bobois, rugs from Haus Kapni, and various pieces of artwork. Thus, it was crucial that, should the worst happen, the client would be well-covered. While I understand that most people tend to prioritize premiums, this case exemplified the importance of coverage quality over cost. If you are spending large sums of money on a property or renovations, it's unwise to cut corners on insurance, as you want a policy that is truly valuable.

It was a bright start to the week at C&C Sports, to say the least. Check out this beauty. Same day turn around led to me receiving the instruction to go ahead with the quote I gave the client. Needless to say, he was happy with the service. After his long-awaited first drive in his new car, the client happily shared the images below with me. Lamborghini Revuelto finished in Verde Scandal. Would you spend £550,000 on a car? Feel free to get in touch for any super/hyper car quotations!! Special mentions to ERS and James Neild for great service as always.

Well done C&C Chester - great to see you continuing to support this fantastic cause! So how long did it take you all to do the lego?!!
Fabulous afternoon at our lovely Chester Cathedral attending Hospice of the Good Shepherd 100 Club Christmas event hosted by Alan Knell. Collected another bauble for our collection. Found out heights aren’t my thing or maybe it’s spiral staircases! Saw some ace Christmas trees, a Lego cathedral and had a sneak peak of the orchestra 🎄🎄🎅🏼🎅🏼. We recently had the pleasure of being invited to the Insurance Institute of Manchester annual dinner, held once again at The Kimpton Clocktower Hotel, Manchester. C&C was well represented with Hiek Sarkissian, Carolyn Bridges ACII DipNEBOSH, Paul Fielding, Kirsty Kilbryde and Ashley Babcock all being guests of Arch Insurance (UK) Limited, AVIVA INSURANCE LIMITED, and Bravo Networks. It was a fantastic night with over 500 guests enjoying a wonderful evening as well as hearing from Nicola Graham, the founder of Reuben's Retreat, which was the event’s official charity partner. Over £37,000 was raised for this fantastic cause throughout the evening – an incredible achievement! We also received some incredibly positive feedback from our hosts, on what it’s like working with C&C. We set high standards and encourage our teams to put the client at the centre of everything we do. Ultimately the goal is to make a difference, every day. We feel we live up to these standards but it’s very rewarding to hear that others recognise this too. Huge thanks to our hosts for extending the invitation to us – it was greatly appreciated and we can only apologise for any questionable dance moves!

We Won! C&C Bring Home The Silverware At The 2024 Stockport Business Awards! Having been the Bridesmaid at last year’s event, it was incredibly satisfying to receive the nod at the 2024 Stockport Business Awards ceremony, held on October 3rd at Edgeley Park, the home of Stockport County FC. Over 350 people descended on the venue to celebrate the best of the best from our local business community. The awards have been running since 2012 and with 13 categories up for grabs, they help to promote the success and achievements across businesses of all sizes. Once again, our host for the evening was 90s TV favourite, Jenny Powell, who dispatched her duties with her usual charismatic charm and easy banter with the crowd. And for the second year running, we were one of three finalists in the £5m+ turnover category which was the last award to be presented on the evening. Only this time it was Malc and the C&C team invited to the stage in front of a packed audience to claim the award! Malc says: “It was a real privilege to receive this recognition from the judging panel. We know just how successful the last 12 to 18 months have been for us, but it’s fantastic to see it confirmed this way. I’m so delighted for the wider C&C team too, as it’s their hard work and commitment to our clients that drives our success, and it’s that success that’s the real prize. Whichever way you look at it, C&C has once again delivered the best year in our history. We’ve added new office locations, new divisions, headcount, client numbers and referrals are all up. We’ve expanded our sponsorship base and we’re just entering the final phase of refurbishment at our Head Office. I’m delighted with what we’ve achieved and where we’re heading! And I can absolutely confirm, there’s so much more to come. I can also confirm, that October 4th was a slow start!”
