Last weekend I attended Bake and Cake International and entered a cake into the Bake International competition. I won a Bronze award for my Lemon drizzle and raspberry jam drip cake. In fact not only am I chuffed to have got a bronze the comments from the judges made my year. “Delicious! The texture is rich and soft, the tanginess in the lemon cake is spot on. Your baking skills truly shine through in every bite of the cake”

The Wellcome Sanger Institute recently celebrated the milestone of generating 50 petabytes of data. I was privileged to be asked to make 4 cakes for this achievement for their event at Hinxton Hall Conference Centre The IT infrastructure at the Sanger Institute is one of the most extensive in the life sciences. Every day they serve data to researchers across the globe. The Sanger is a world leader in genome research that delivers insights into human, evolutionary and pathogen biology based just outside Cambridge it was a big part of the Human Genome Project and continues to deliver on their mission to “apply and explore genomic technologies at scale to advance understanding of biology and improve health”.

Recently I was honoured to make a special birthday cake for Cambridge Past, Present & Future to celebrate the 70th Birthday of Wandlebury Country Park. On 26 April 1954 the charity announced it had purchased the Wandlebury estate, saving the Gog Magog Hills from development and creating Cambridge's first country park. So a cake was required with lots of images to showcase the beauty of the park for its VIP event held in June. The charity also has a 70th Birthday Appeal running on its website to help keep the park as lovely as it is for another 70 years. If you’d like to support this see the link below. https://lnkd.in/e652W623
