  • Congratulations to our Early Advice and Support Team (EAST) who have been shortlisted as ‘champions of financial stability and wellbeing’ in this year’s Local Government Chronicle Awards! The team help those who struggle to pay for food and fuel or who need extra support with budgeting, often providing advice on Council Tax and Benefits to make sure people are claiming what they’re entitled to. • Five years on from Storm Ciara... On February 9, 2020, Storm Ciara brought a month's worth of rain in just 24 hours, causing 10 miles of damage and flooded around 1,200 properties in Calderdale. Our communities demonstrated remarkable resilience in response to Storm Ciara. Over the past five years, our borough has made significant strides in addressing flooding and climate change. This blog post remembers the impact of Storm Ciara and provides some examples of the important work carried out since to reduce the risk of severe flooding: https://lnkd.in/er6_FEpa Photos: Daisy Brasington, https://lnkd.in/eCK7SQQe Remember The Future
