Calunius Capital LLP (“Calunius”) is a leading player in the funding of commercial litigation and arbitration across a wide range of jurisdictions. Founded in December 2006, Calunius is now one of the longest established names in the sector. Calunius acts as the exclusive Investment Adviser to the Calunius Litigation Risk Fund LP and the Calunius Litigation Risk Fund 2 LP (the “Calunius Funds”); both funds are based in Guernsey. The Calunius Funds are focussed exclusively on investments in Litigation Funding and have combined capital commitments of more than US$100million. Calunius Capital advises the Calunius Funds on the origination, assessment and execution of funding transactions linked to large scale commercial litigation and arbitration claims in UK and German domestic and international contexts under a wide range of applicable laws. The Calunius outlook is truly international. Investments have been made supporting cases brought in: - German courts, - ICSID Arbitration, - ICC Arbitration, - UNCITRAL, - Dutch courts, - LCIA Arbitration, and - English courts. Calunius has a multidisciplinary approach to funding cases reflecting the partners varied backgrounds as lawyers, bankers, engineers and, most importantly, a collective 30 years as litigation funders.
