We are once again teaming up with Cambridge City Foodbank and Cambridge City Council to distribute hampers, toys, and vegetable bags 🥔🥕to hundreds of families across the city and we need your support in order to reach everyone who needs us. Every donation, big or small, makes a huge difference to people facing the impacts of food poverty. ⭐️To donate visit https://lnkd.in/eCWa9j5F. Please give what you can, and share this post to spread the message of joy and nourishment this Christmas.

  • And that’s a wrap! Today was our last day of packing festive fruit and veg for a total of 648 families in Cambridge with the help of a fabulous team of volunteers from Savills 🥕 🥔 🍊 As well as filling 170 bags and boxes with a beautiful selection of seasonal produce, they also saved the day by supplying the extra sprouts, carrots, and fruit we needed to get us to the finish line. Huge thanks also to Sandra from the Milton Tesco store for donating a whopping 320 bags of parsnips to the cause. All the spares are heading to our friends Cambridge Community Kitchen where they’ll be cooked up into free, hot, vegan meals to keep the local community nourished over Christmas. The high demand for hampers and veg bags this winter just goes to show how food solidarity is needed more than ever. We may have achieved our veg bag goals but the work to tackle food poverty doesn’t stop there - and we need your help to do it. ⭐ Please consider supporting our winter appeal via the link https://lnkd.in/eCWa9j5F to help us keep nourishing the people of Cambridge into the new year. Thank you! #CSFwinterappeal #cambridgesustainablefood #cambridgecityfoodbank #christmashampers #christmas #donate #helpourelves

  • Thank you Niab for donating such an amazing haul of onions for our festive veg bags!! All these are spares from the harvest which, though perfectly edible, might otherwise have gone to waste, so we’re very grateful for the opportunity to put them to good use filling bellies instead of bins this Christmas 🧅 🥕 🥔 It’s thanks to the generosity of donors that we’re able to pull off the incredible mission of supplying hundreds of households across Cambridge with provisions for a happy and healthy Christmas. This week we hit the milestone of raising over £2k through our winter fundraising appeal, bringing us almost halfway to our goal! With 12 days left until Christmas, there’s still time for you to help us make it all the way. Donate via https://lnkd.in/eCWa9j5F to take us a step closer to ensuring no family in Cambridge goes hungry this winter or beyond. #CSFwinterappeal #cambridgesustainablefood #cambridgecityfoodbank #christmashampers #christmas #donate #helpourelves

  • Santa’s helper was deeply inspired by the volunteers from Illumina who gave up their time yesterday to help sort and pack Christmas hamper donations for Cambridge City Foodbank, ensuring that every family’s hamper meets the same high standard. Huge thank you to the Illumina team for also contributing 30 hampers and 28 games to the Christmas project yesterday, as well as donating the funds raised through their seasonal giving campaign to CSF and the Foodbank. Our share of the donation will go towards supplying the fresh fruit and vegetables we are sending out to hundreds of families across the city next week 🥔🥕🍎 This kind of generosity goes a long way in helping us on our joint mission with the Foodbank and Cambridge City Council to reach over 1,000 households with essential provisions this Christmas. ⭐️Donate via https://lnkd.in/eCWa9j5F to take us another step closer to our goal of ensuring no family in Cambridge goes hungry this Christmas. #CSFwinterappeal #cambridgesustainablefood #cambridgecityfoodbank #christmashampers #christmas #donate #helpourelves

  • Want to help spread joy and nourishment across Cambridge this festive season? Volunteer on our Christmas veg distribution project! 🥕 🥔 Alex, our Volunteer Coordinator, is very excited to be leading this year’s Christmas Project alongside their North Pole helper - but since Santa’s sleigh is all loaded up with toys, they still need some volunteer drivers to help deliver hampers, toys, and veg bags to families across the city in the run-up to Christmas. We have a range of delivery shifts available between Monday 16th and Friday 20th December. For more information or to sign up please email alex@cambridgesustainablefood.org If you can't volunteer, you can still support by pledging to donate a veg bag or giving to our winter appeal to fund the vegetables we need to fill our Christmas bags. To donate visit https://lnkd.in/eCWa9j5F. ⭐ To volunteer as a Christmas driver you must be aged 18+ and have a valid UK driving licence and insurance on the vehicle you are driving. #CSFwinterappeal #cambridgesustainablefood #cambridgecityfoodbank #christmashampers #christmas #donate #helpourelves

  • Pledge a Christmas veg bag to help us spread joy and nourishment to families in Cambridge this Christmas! 🥔 🥕 In less than two weeks CSF will be in full swing delivering festive fruit 🍏 🍊 and veg bags to hundreds of families in need across Cambridge. Christmas can be a difficult and isolating time when the food prices are a barrier to sharing a meal with loved ones, and more people than ever are struggling to afford essentials as the cost of living climbs. This year more than 550 families have asked us to support them by providing vegetables for their Christmas dinner - and you can help us reach that goal. By donating a veg bag you will bring nourishment, joy, and hope to a family facing hardship this Christmas. It’s easy! Just pack a bag full of seasonal veg and drop it off to CSF between Monday 16th - Wednesday 18th December. Sign up to donate a veg bag via the link below, where you can also donate to our winter fundraiser to get us even further on the way to feeding everyone who needs us this Christmas. ⭐ https://lnkd.in/eRD_vccy #CSFwinterappeal #cambridgesustainablefood #cambridgecityfoodbank #christmashampers #helpourelves

  • Are you looking for ways to help reduce food waste and increase community food redistribution? Are you free on Tuesday evenings? And do you have a car or van? If the answer is 'yes' then Cambridge Sustainable Food needs you! We are looking for a regular volunteer to fill the slot of collecting surplus food from local Tesco stores between 8pm - 10pm on Tuesday evenings. Any surplus we can save on a Tuesday is a huge help in enabling us to get food out to all the places it's needed later in the week, and this is currently proving to be one of our trickiest collection slots to fill! We're also always looking for more volunteer drivers to support with regular supermarket collections on weekday mornings - and as we head into December there will also be opportunities to help us deliver fresh vegetables to families all across Cambridge in time for Christmas. If you think you can help and/or would like more information about what volunteering as a CSF driver involves then please contact alex@cambridgesustainablefood.org
