As 2025 draws to a close, this week we had the pleasure of supporting our partners, Solving Kids' Cancer UK, at their truly special annual Christmas carol event. This meaningful evening brought together families to celebrate moments of joy and resilience while remembering those whose cancer journeys ended far too soon. With over 350 children, parents, and guests in attendance, the event shone a light on the strength and solidarity within the Community and the work of many who are helping to make an immeasurable difference. Through Evamore Music we were grateful to Ella Henderson for lending her support, delivering a phenomenal live performance alongside the exceptional Louis Moorhouse on piano and with the London Show Choir. A true Christmas cracker. To everyone in our Community, we wish you a peaceful festive season. Your support throughout this year has been invaluable as we continue to grow @cancerplatform. We’re looking forward to 2025, sharing our progress, and working with so many more of you. Thank you all.

This first social will focus primarily on Cancer Platform and where we are at in developing the digital tool that aims to transform cancer outcomes for all. Back in June, Ricki Fairley from Touch, The Black Breast Cancer Alliance and Nina Lopes discussed the racial disparities in breast cancer that have impacted them both, in the UK and US, on the Cancer Platform Presents podcast, What's Next: Nina Lopes. Yesterday a report from the American Cancer Society offered insight into this subject, finding that:  - Black women have a 38% higher death rate from breast cancer compared to white women - This is despite having a 5% lower incidence rate.  - And at every single stage of breast cancer, Black women have the lowest survival rate. A week full of highlights. One in particular you might have missed... delighted to announce a new Founding Patron at Cancer Awareness Trust for the development of Cancer Platform. The incredible Suzie Turner is the latest addition to our roster of supporters helping us get there quicker with the delivery of quick and easy access to relevant and reliable cancer information, services and stories.
