Mid-Movember is here which means #teamCAN are halfway through their mission for men’s health. Colleagues have been taking part in #Movember, raising funds for life-changing men’s health initiatives across mental health, suicide prevention, prostate cancer and testicular cancer.   CAN’s Mo Bros have put their razors aside this month, letting there hairiest and most striking mustaches come to life, symbolising better health for men whilst also sparking important conversations. See the photos below for their mid-Movember update.   Our Mo Sisters have also been showing their support, by moving 60km throughout the month of November, for the 60 men who are lost to suicide globally every month.   Team “Mo’ than we CAN handle” have made significant progress on their mission so far and they will continue to fundraise throughout the rest of Movember. This week, Neil Rose, CAN's Inspection Services Director and Chris Yates, CAN's Tender & Proposals Manager, visited Ellon Academy as part of the DYW North East careers fair to help support pupils who are beginning their career journeys by sharing the variety of opportunities available at CAN Group. Nathan Rose, NDT Technician at CAN, who previously attended Ellon Academy, also joined #teamCAN on the day to explain his career path to date to help inspire the next generation.   It was a busy evening hearing from pupils who were keen to share their aspirations and career goals, with lots of interest from students looking to progress a career in #engineering. Our team discussed the range of office and field-based roles within our wider business to help students understand more about CAN and our service offering across the energy industry.   Thank you to the DYW and Ellon Academy for hosting such an engaging event and thank you to all the pupils who supported the event too.   CAN Group is proud to be part of the Young Person’s Guarantee which aims to provide opportunities for all 16-24 year olds in Scotland through jobs, apprenticeships, further and higher education, training programmes and volunteering. #careers #workplaceopportunities #nextgeneration #skills #confidence #support

To continue our efforts in helping to inspire the next generation, #teamCAN colleagues met with pupils at Portlethen Academy this week as part of the DYW North East careers fair. David McDonald, CAN’s ANDT Manager and Callum Clark, ANDT technician, spoke with pupils about their career aspirations which involved many interesting discussions about a wide range of potential career paths. Our team also showed an Unmanned Aerial Vehicle and a Thermography camera, to help pupils visualise and understand how inspection techniques are applied in the field by CAN Group’s technicians.
