National Self Care Week ❤️ This week is National Self Care Week, a public health initiative with the purpose of empowering people to better look after their own physical health and their mental well-being. Working within the care sector means that you are constantly looking after and ensuring your service users are as physically and mentally well as possible. While this is important, your own wellbeing is important too. We want to ensure that our carers are working to the best of their abilities, and are physically and mentally fit enough to do so. World Antimicrobial Resistance Awareness Week 💊 The 18th till the 24th of November marks World Antimicrobial Awareness Week, raising awareness about how we need to be more careful surrounding the use of antibiotics. Antimicrobial resistance is the process where microorganisms that cause disease become resistant to drugs. This means that drugs, like antibiotics, are no longer able to fight the disease. If they can no longer fight the disease it could become impossible to treat or cure. The cause of this drug resistance is from the overuse of antibiotics, making them lose their effectiveness. Working within the care sector means we understand the issues and risks that come along with medications. It's incredibly important that we ensure our service users take their full course of antibiotics when prescribed.
