Almost 10 years old, and what a hugely proud moment this is - personally and professionally. Almost 10 years ago, after being told by my regional manager, 'I don't care if your child is in intensive care, you will still be required to be on shift if you can not get it covered,' I decided maybe I wasn't in the healthiest of workplaces. So unknowing to me when I started as a freelance trainer, I created my own workplace where the focus is on how we can make things easier for people, NOT how I can relieve the stress from me and add it onto others. Despite working longer hours than I have ever worked when employed for the longest time, we worked on determination and shoestring budgets alone. Returning to an environment as toxic as my previous employer was not an option. 2014 I vomited on myself because I couldn't get off the motorway to the services quickly enough; Rob (my now hubby) and I were unsure if we could pay our monthly bills. To save money on hotels, I would leave at 3 am to drive to Scotland with a pillow and blanket and have a nap in the service station before doing a day of training and going home the same day. It was a difficult and stressful time, but we believed in the values of Caring for Care and the realistic tagline of Raising Standards Together. Our tagline of Raising Standards Together is to acknowledge our part in supporting the end user (patient/resident/client) to receive the best possible outcome. We take our part seriously and believe in transparency with our customers making them aware if we cannot achieve their expectations. We work alongside customers throughout the UK who take their part seriously in Raising Standards Together and are committed to providing training to their team members. I want to take this opportunity to thank all of our fantastic trainers who attended our CPD day and those unable to attend. We hope to see you next time! I want to thank our team in the office for all their help in the organising, with special thanks to Francesca Hawkins - Chief in charge of food and goodie bags! I will also reflect on both my and Rob Platt's achievementsRob Platt's achievement and all the lessons we have learned along the way. Very often, after a big project, we look to the next one without reflecting on or appreciating the moment. It isn't very British to congratulate yourself, a tad self-indulgent, isn't it? Well, I am saying it - well done to me, and cheers to you, Rob. Now what was it I was saying about not going to the next project too soon after?? I have an idea! - I think a 10th anniversary celebration #social is required. #training #work #team #project #saynototoxicpositivity #sayyestohealthyworkculture #growth #learn #challenge #develop
