CARRSMSM-Wälischmiller reposted this
Last month, Rob Sharratt, Lead Technologist at RAICo, and our Senior Remote Handling Operator, Jeff Slater visited Wälischmiller Engineering GmbH (HWM) in Markdorf, Germany. We have been working alongside HWM to advance the technology and operation of through-wall robotic manipulators, gathering operator feedback throughout. By increasing the use of automation, digital software and control handling, we will make the operation of hot cell robotics more efficient. Alongside representatives from Sellafield Ltd, NRS and UKAEA, the visit provided users the opportunity to become familiar with the LiRob through-wall manipulator robot. This visit gave hands-on experience with the prototype, helping attendees understand the robot’s capabilities and functions that can be used within their facilities. By the end of the sessions, attendees demonstrated significant proficiency, showcasing the Lirob's capabilities and ease of use. #NuclearDecommissioning #Automation #Robotics #RAICo #LiRob #WälischmillerEngineering

👀 Our test area is always a busy and interesting place to be. Today we are putting our long-reach VNE90 through its paces ready for multiple demonstrations in the coming weeks. 💪 With a 20kg capacity at 4m, and all stainless steel hot-arm, it is suited to both heavy, and precise, operations in the harshest of environments. The hot-arm is purely mechanical, keeping electrical components away from the radioactive components being handled. 🎬 The test area is the perfect place to see one of our manipulators in action, get hands-on with them and discuss the capabilities and possibilities with the team here at CARRSMSM-Wälischmiller. Get in touch with us to find out more 📲 ☎ 💻
