About us
CEFM has established itself nationally as one of the primary service providers across the whole spectrum of education within the United Kingdom. Over the past three decades, we have become a key resource for education managers, offering an immediate source of information allowing senior staff to confidently make timely, well-informed decisions. The Centre for Education & Finance Management and its predecessors have been assisting schools on financial, educational, personnel and legal matters since the inception of Local Management of Schools in 1990. It is our belief that each school is unique and requires a support package tailored to its own needs. Factors including staff numbers, in-house expertise and new legislation such as the Academies Act can all influence the level and type of support required. It is our policy to visit each client in person to explain our services in detail in order to guarantee each school or academy receives the best possible support. We have also developed a full online website of useful resources and documentation, which eduation providers can subscribe to for a wealth of support.

The Information Commissioners Office (ICO) use of AI report The report highlights the importance of data protection compliance and privacy risk management in the use of AI recruitment tools. It emphasizes that while AI can offer significant benefits in recruitment processes, it also poses risks to individuals' privacy and information rights. The report recommends that both AI providers and recruiters follow best practices to ensure compliance with UK data protection laws, including monitoring for accuracy and bias, minimizing data collection, ensuring transparency, and conducting thorough data protection impact assessments (DPIAs). In our second December Education Update we cover: · Report cards - In mid-November, Ofsted shared their initial proposals for the report cards in what was intended to be confidence with senior education leaders. The slides used at this presentation, however, were leaked. We give an overview of what is known so far. · Persistent disadvantage gap - The Education Policy Institute has just published a report entitled ‘Tackling the persistent disadvantage gap’. The report is based on the belief that there is a clear case for additional support for persistently disadvantaged pupils. We give the main findings and recommendations from the report. · Gatsby benchmarks - The Gatsby benchmarks have been updated to ensure the framework is fit for the future. The core eight benchmarks remain the same, but evidence-informed changes have been made by updating definitions and measurable criteria. We give the key changes.
