Join me at Cardiff Metropolitan University about how to 'mobilise the masses' in affirmative climate activities. Yes, we *all* recycle, or occasionally cycle to work, rather than driving. But what else is possible? Who else within our communities could we be supporting to get involved at their pace? Join me at this event to hear the reasons behind Taff Tidy, and the legacy projects behind the world record attempt.
📣 Upcoming event organised by the Cardiff Met Sustainability team 📣 Join the Cardiff Met Sustainability team for an inspiring session with Kate Strong—multi-world record-holding cyclist, ex-world champion triathlete, climate activist, and author—who is passionate about climate behavioural change and pushing boundaries. Kate’s journey is one of resilience, self-discovery, and stepping outside of the comfort zone. From elite sports to climate action, she has continuously challenged what’s possible. In this talk, Kate will share her story, how she combined world-class sport with climate activism, and share ways people can take meaningful action for the planet. She will also introduce her latest challenge: The Taff Tidy, a collaborative project to break a river cleanup world record on the 21st March 2025. 📅 10th March, 3:30 pm - 5:00 pm 📍 Llandaff Campus Hospitality Suite, Cardiff Metropolitan University ➡️ https://lnkd.in/euGj6GBs

📢 The impact of UK reuse charities must be recognised and supported to help achieve the UK's ambitious circular economy goals. Today we have released The Reuse Roadmap which sets out five key points we are asking the Government to consider for the UK's new Circular Economy Strategy. The charity reuse sector is essential, at-scale, and creates significant social and environmental impact. However, more support for reuse is needed to drive the circular economy forward. We must work together to create a future circular economy that is fair, equitable, and inclusive for all. Craig Anderson OBE, CEO of Reuse Network said “For decades, reuse charities have stepped in where policy has fallen short, ensuring that essential household goods remain accessible to those who need them most. Yet, despite our environmental, social, and economic contributions, the value of the reuse sector has never been fully recognised or supported. The Government must act now to remove restrictive policies and champion reuse in order to unlock its full potential in driving the circular economy forward. The time for recognition and action is long overdue.” Find the link to The Reuse Roadmap in the comments ⬇️
