Lowering your emissions through innovation in transport and energy infrastructure Independent | Not-for-profit | Experts
About us
Cenex was established as the UK’s first Centre of Excellence for Low Carbon and Fuel Cell technologies in 2005. Today, Cenex focuses on low emission transport & associated energy infrastructure and operates as an independent, not-for-profit research technology organisation (RTO) and consultancy, specialising in project delivery, innovation support and market development. We also organise Cenex Expo, the UK’s largest innovation event that stimulates ideas, showcases the latest leading-edge technology, and brings together people driving the net zero and connected automated mobility future. Our independence ensures impartial, trustworthy advice, and, as a not-for-profit, we are driven by the outcomes that are right for you, your industry and your environment, not by the work which pays the most or favours one technology. Finally, as trusted advisors with expert knowledge, we are the go-to source of guidance and support for public and private sector organisations along their transition to a zero-carbon future and will always provide you with insights and solutions that reduce pollution, increase efficiency and lower costs. Together, we can lower your emissions through innovation in transport and energy infrastructure.

🛥️ Cenex is part of the Virtual Bunkering for Electric Vessels 2 (VBEV2) project, exploring how electric vessels can change the maritime industry. We are researching how electric vessel technology can power a cleaner future by transforming smaller watercraft with battery-electric propulsion and unlocking innovative solutions like vessel-to-grid (V2G) energy transfer. If you own or operate a vessel, we’d love to hear how you use it! Your insights will help us: ⚓ Identify vessels ready for battery-electric propulsion. ⚓ Drive policy recommendations for a net-zero maritime future. ⚓ Advance technologies like vessel-to-grid (V2G) energy transfer. The survey takes only 5 minutes, and you'll enter a draw to win a £50 Amazon voucher! Share up to a year's worth of vessel data to double your chances of winning. 📋 Answer the Survey Now: https://lnkd.in/d5G8jA52 #NetZero #Transport #Infrastructure #UKSHORE #Maritime2050 #FutureofTransport #V2G #V2X Innovate UK | Aqua superPower Limited | EDF (UK) | University of Plymouth | City College Plymouth | Fuuse | Ingenity Electric | RS Electric Boats

🚨 Reminder: National Chargepoint Registry (NCR) Closing Soon 🚨 Since 2011, the National Chargepoint Registry (NCR) has been a cornerstone of the UK's electric vehicle (EV) charging infrastructure, expanding from 3,800 to over 63,000 chargepoints under Cenex's management. This next phase aligns with the government's commitment to enhancing the accessibility and reliability of EV chargepoint data through mandatory open data sharing. 📅 Important date to Note: 28th November 2024 - The NCR will officially be decommissioned. Under the Public Chargepoint Regulations 2023, from 24th November 2024 all public EV chargepoint operators will be required to share open data free of charge on elements such as location, real-time availability, connector types, and payment methods. This year's Autumn Budget statement allocates over £200 million to accelerate the rollout of EV chargepoints, including on-street charge points. The budget seeks to address infrastructure barriers for EV users. Enhancing charging availability is essential for increasing the adoption of electric vans, particularly for businesses managing larger fleets or vehicles that require high mileage. Take the poll and share your views in the comments. #NetZero #Transport #Infrastructure #Decarbonisation #Government
