Global Wales Project Activities at Karnataka! We kicked off the phase 3 activities at Indian Institute of Information Technology (IIIT) Dharwad with an inaugural address on 16th December 2024 supported by Global Wales Partnership Funding,Universities Wales. We organized a Workshop on AI in Healthcare: Challenges and opportunities for faculty and students from partner institutes in Karnataka and Cardiff School of Technologies,Cardiff Metropolitan University,Wales,UK. A highlight of the day was an inspiring invited talk by Catherine Tryfona, Associate Dean Partnerships,Cardiff School of Technologies,Cardiff Metropolitan University on "The Use of Technology to Provide Diagnostic and Life Support to Autistic People and Their Caregivers” and discussed about the Key factors supporting autism care and the potential of mobile health technologies in empowering children with autism and their caregivers.We extend our sincere gratitude to Dr. Tryfona Catherine for delivering an inspiring invited talk and for shedding light on how technology can truly make a difference in healthcare and improve lives! Dr Satish G Patil,Professor at SDM College of Medical Sciences and Hospital, SDM University, Dharwad, India delivered a talk on 'AI in Heart and Vascular Health Research' its clinical uses and the Gaps/Challenges. He highlighted the transformative potential of AI in automating clinical workflows in vascular therapies. His talk shed light on how advanced technologies can revolutionize the way we approach heart and vascular health, making therapies more efficient and accessible. Following his insightful session, Dr Satish G Patil led academic researchers part of the Global Wales Research Network from partner institutes in Karnataka on a visit to SDM Medical College and Hospital. This visit opened up exciting opportunities for collaboration and research to address these limitations and advance healthcare diagnostics. A big thank you to Dr Satish G Patil and SDM Medical College for facilitating this valuable exchange of knowledge!
